  • I'm kind of a fan of the traditional one. Ground beef, mushrooms, corn, and potatoes. I also like to mix some ground sausage into the ground beef.
  • there was one in the kraft recipe mag that had the ground beef, golden mushroom soup and veggies(like a bag of frozen veggies) then topped with mashed potatoes and cheese on top. and I really like to make homemade mashed potatoes with garlic and bacon and cheese to put on top, then top with more cheese!!! (you can never have to much cheese!)
  • This is how I always make mine: Ground beef (boil it, then drain it to get rid of the fat) Return it to the pan, add beef stock and gravy granules to thicken. Pur mashed potatoes on top. Adding veggies makes it into a cottage pie. You can put grated cheddar on top of the mash if you like it. Srick it in the oven and bake until mash is golden brown on top. Serve with peas.
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 2 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 2 eggs, separated 6 tablespoons butter 8 potatoes, peeled, boiled, and mashed 1 cup finely chopped onion 1 tablespoon ketchup beef broth 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Parmesan cheese Pillsbury pastry dough or pizza dough Brown ground beef and sauté onions in 2 tablespoons butter until golden. Mix ground beef with onions, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Add a few tablespoons of beef broth and cook, covered, over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, adding more beef broth as necessary to keep moist. Beat egg yolks until light, then in another bowl, beat whites until stiff. Beat the yolks, cream, 6 tablespoons butter, and garlic powder into hot mashed potatoes. Gently fold in beaten egg whites. Put meat mixture into a pastry shell like Pillsbury crescent dough or pizza dough, then top with potato mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, roll it and seal with egg wash and bake at 350° about 25 to 35 minutes
  • Okay let us make a poultry farmers pie. Couple of skinned boneless chicken breasts cubed sauteed in butter or olive oil or both, seasoned with salt and pepper to your taste. Drain chicken and place into a 9x9 casserole dish drain a can of green peas and layer those onto the chicken, layer a can of cream of chicken soup onto the peas then make about 6 servings of instant mashed potatoes and spread on top. Bake in the oven at 350 until potatoes start to brown. I sometimes add parsley to my poataoes while mixing to give them a little color. Mr Bill
