    Then get a half inch drill and a 5/8 inch drill bit. Apply directly to belly button, make sure drill is rotating clock-wise, and push hard!!! Wait!!! STOP!! If you are DUMB enough to really even think about it, you might be dumb enough to really follow these directions. Do you believe in self-mutilation? Don't do it. Get it done by a pro, if you must.     Word of advice... dont.
    Just read other peoples bad experience when peircing their own belly button on AB.
    The money is worth getting it peirced at a professional peircer.

    What you Need:
    1. A sterilized 14 to 16Ga Piercing needle.
    2. Belly Ring
    3. Neosporin
    4 Cotton Balls
    5. Gloves
    6. Q-tips
    Fist wash your hands. Then put on gloves. Make sure you have all the things you need close. Use a cotton ball to clean the area with alcohol. Hold the flap of skin you want pierced. Press the piercing needle through the skin clear through to the other side.(Dont slant it just take it staight through.) With the needle still piercing the skin, put the belly ring through the hole behind the needle as you remove the needle. Once the needle is out attatch the ball to the belly ring. Then use a q-tip to put Neosporin on both sides of the piercing.
    Healing Time: It takes around 3-6 months to heal. For some it takes 12 months or more to heal. It depends on how well you take care of it.
    CLEAN TWICE A DAY UNTIL ITS HEALD
    1. Wash your hands before you clean it. Dont touch it other than to clean it.
    3. Clean it with antibactirial soap like Dial or Soft soap.
    5. Pat it dry with cotton or q-tips.
    DO NOT USE ALCOHOL TO CLEAN!!! It dries the out the skin.

    A needle, Ice cube, Rubbing alcohol, salt water and I belly ring. Thats all you'll need. Take the ice cub and put it on the spot that you want to pierce when It is numb stick the needle through your belly button and when its through rub it with a alcohol pad then put the belly ring in and rub it with an alcohol pad again. Then after that clean it 3 times a day with salt water. It should heal in a month don't pick at it or change the belly ring if you do it WILL get infected. Don't clean it more that 3 times a day if you do you'll irratate the piercing and it WILL get infected and eventually work its way out of your belly.

    I knew this one girl, who did it herself, and it got infected.
    so getting it professionally would be the best option.

    DONT DO IT. I did it when I was 17 (I'm 35 now) and for one thing it hurt like hell, and it doesn't heal right, I ended up letting it heal closed then getting it done at a shop, I still have a little scar from it too.

    You DO NOT pierce your own belly button!!! Let a professional do it for you!! They can tell you what to expect, how to clean and care for it. They will tell you how to know if it is infected. DO NOT do this at home.

    DONT!! you seriously dont want to attempt that at home if for no other reason..you dont want to risk an infection with a naval piercing..go and have it done if you really want to have one. :)

    A doctor (my dad)
    an 18 gauge needle
    and a numbing needle ;)

    But other than that... ummm best way is:
    DON'T, would you rather pay $50 or have excruciating pain and a scar!

    Block of ice, bottle of tequila, another bottle of tequila, and ANOTHER bottle of tequila! Then, a needle like you would if you were to pierce you ear, sterilysed hopefully, through the belly button, then the piercing. Then another bottle of tequila. I wouldn't do it if I were you, it's a lot of tequila to get hold of!

    piering things by yourself is not as bad as everyone mkes it sound for christ sakes. if you look everything up on the internet, have the right tools and make sure they are steralised, and know what you are doing you will most likely be fine! i pierced my bellybutton this morning cause i was hella bored! i'd been wanting it done for ages and i had everything i needed. i made sre though, that everything i hade was properly cleaned and i washed my hands like 20 times before and wore gloves. if i could of, i probley would have gotten it done by a pro, just because it wouldnt of taken so long, but if this is out-of-the-question for you, then doing it yourself is the only other option! yes, it may hurt for a while, but it ends eventually! i say do it! but before you do so, defenetly make sure you want it, and have at least 2-weeks of thinking about it and re-searching it over the internet before you start.

    WHY do people insist on doing piercings themselves? Just fork up 30 dollars and get it done professionally. You'd have to pay about the same amount for the needles, jewelry, and stuff anyway, so why not pay to have it done by someone who knows what they're doing so nothing goes wrong?

    umm..well i pierced my belly button like 2 weeks ago..

    and it didn't even hurt..it only took like 10 min for me to do it..im really young..so yeah it's pretty stupid but hey..
    it looks cool..ne-ways im just happy it didn't get infected..=]]

    If you really want your navel pierced i would HIGHLY suggest that you get it done professionally !! Doing it home could go very bad very quick and the pors can give you advice that could help a whole lot !! Maybe wait until a holiday like birthday or christmas if you get money then or save up call around and research the place !!

    You don't, unless you own an autoclave, know where to buy the proper needles and jewelry, can create a sterile field and prevent cross contamination, and of course, are experienced in self piercing. Since you're asking this here, and not on a forums that cater to self piercers, I'm guessing you shouldn't even attempt this. I may be wrong, but I doubt you know enough to do it properly and antiseptically. Go to a professional.

    If your goin to pierce your own belly button i suggest that you have somebody help you whether its an adult or not. Make sure u have a belly button ring to put in right after so the hole doesnt close up. find a needle that is as thick or almost as thick as a belly button ring sewing needles work if u find the right thickness. have a friend hold the skin while u push the needle in. or the other way around. ice it for least amount of pain no matter what its gonna hurt, but not that bad

    numb it with ice for half an hour, mark on your bellybutton where you wanna pierce it or it WILL get infected.then clamp it if you have a clamp, if not just pinch the skin on either side and shove a 14 g. or very thick sewing needle through.try and follow it immediately with the jewelry,or it'll hurt like hell.
    make sure everythingg you use is steralized; washed and firedd.

    Go to the professionals and let them take care of it. When I was in high school there were plenty of girls who tried just that (wern't old enough/couldn't get parents permission to do it the legal way). Well, you can imagine the results--lots of pus and scarred, nasty looking navels.

    ok.
    steralize whatever ur using.
    i suggest using ur lighter. (dont try to steralize it with alcohol first. trust me.)
    then carefully mark where you want the hole to go.
    quickly and carefully push it through.
    dont use ice, cold only makes the body more sensitive to pain.
    after that, put the ring in and keep it steralized.
    alot of people are saying not to use safety pins, but i think im gonna do it anyways and just trade the pins out.

    i did mines just now all you need is 3 papper towles depeniding if u bleed easily , alchol a needle and 2 ice cubes
    first choose where u want ur piercing then clean the needle with alcohol place it down on a paper towel then grab yhu belly button get a ice cube rub it untill its rellie kold then litle by little apply the needle and start pushing it in until its through
    keep bring it back up then down so it kud get wider and then u leave it their for a while get the bell button ring and klean it be4 putting it in ur stomache then apply the piercing add vasoline and bandaid for a day and thenn u have a piercing

    And Used a hollow needle.
    And Had somene hold the spot i wanted and i pushed it through
    It was easy and didnt hurt.


    So ..Just make sure everythings sterile

    well i used a 14 gauge needle and sterilized it then stuck it through and slowly pushed the barbell through afterwards, it only hurt for a secong then it was good...now its perfect. hope that helps.

    i got a piercing kit and its coming tommorow im 11 yrs old almost 12 and im good with pain but i will probally get it wrong anyways ive tried going to a proffesional but they sent me back even though i had a 16 yr old with me also i was wondering if sumone plz give me tips of how to do it with the kit i done my top (right at the top) earpierce right last year and it aint infected yet and i done it with a lighter and a earing lolll

    wow i was really in the mood to do it myself, but half you people had to see the glass half empty. i want to hear the positive outcomes. the reason people searched this was to feel confident in their decisionnnnnn. all you people out there like meee, just think how sexy it'll look when it's donnneee. you can't always live life proffesional and cleannnn. this is the kind of stuff that your supposed to do when your young and stupid so you have memories when your an old wrinkly fart. the only reason why everyone on this site is aganist it is they're not the success stories. the success stories are out their showing off their hotttt bellyyyyyyyy.

    Im 12 i have attemted to pierce my own belly button. I didnt go all the way threw. But it went a ways down. It didnt hurt. And did not get infected. I reccomend a piercing set or a safety pin.
    But i used a push pin.
    I also reccomend poroxide if it dose get infected use that for a week it uill be fine.!
    if u have a kit use the 14g to start.

    I just resently pierced my belly button. im 14. and i used rubbing alchol,a saftey pin . or a sewing needle and ice. i numbed my belly button with ice for about. oh 20 minutes wehn it was finally done. i put the needle through my belly button and kept pushing intill it came through, it didnt hurt alot. just stung;. then i put an earing through untill i can get a belly button ring. :D good luck

    hold ice up there until it burns get a safety pen are a needle shove it threw there continously put ice up there get an take the belly ring put it in if you dont have it at thee time use an earringggggg put peroxcid eon it everyday so it dosnt get infected
