  • Nail, hammer, bottle of strong booze. Seriously though, don't even think about it. Get it done professionally.
  • a hollow needle rubbing alcohol and good pain tollerance there is no worry about over bleeding there r no veins there
  • Block of ice, bottle of tequila, another bottle of tequila, and ANOTHER bottle of tequila! Then, a needle like you would if you were to pierce you ear, sterilysed hopefully, through the belly button, then the piercing. Then another bottle of tequila. I wouldn't do it if I were you, it's a lot of tequila to get hold of!
  • ermmmm....dont.
  • Dont even risk that! thats such a bad idea. I knew this one girl, who did it herself, and it got infected. so getting it professionally would be the best option.
  • Well if you are as lucky as me: A doctor (my dad) an 18 gauge needle and a numbing needle ;) But other than that... ummm best way is: DON'T, would you rather pay $50 or have excruciating pain and a scar!
  • A needle, Ice cube, Rubbing alcohol, salt water and I belly ring. Thats all you'll need. Take the ice cub and put it on the spot that you want to pierce when It is numb stick the needle through your belly button and when its through rub it with a alcohol pad then put the belly ring in and rub it with an alcohol pad again. Then after that clean it 3 times a day with salt water. It should heal in a month don't pick at it or change the belly ring if you do it WILL get infected. Don't clean it more that 3 times a day if you do you'll irratate the piercing and it WILL get infected and eventually work its way out of your belly.
  • First call 911.... Then get a half inch drill and a 5/8 inch drill bit. Apply directly to belly button, make sure drill is rotating clock-wise, and push hard!!! Wait!!! STOP!! If you are DUMB enough to really even think about it, you might be dumb enough to really follow these directions. Do you believe in self-mutilation? Don't do it. Get it done by a pro, if you must. Would you let your little girl do this? Think...
  • You don't, unless you own an autoclave, know where to buy the proper needles and jewelry, can create a sterile field and prevent cross contamination, and of course, are experienced in self piercing. Since you're asking this here, and not on a forums that cater to self piercers, I'm guessing you shouldn't even attempt this. I may be wrong, but I doubt you know enough to do it properly and antiseptically. Go to a professional.
  • DONT!! you seriously dont want to attempt that at home if for no other reason..you dont want to risk an infection with a naval piercing..go and have it done if you really want to have one. :)
  • What you Need: 1. A sterilized 14 to 16Ga Piercing needle. 2. Belly Ring 3. Neosporin 4 Cotton Balls 5. Gloves 6. Q-tips Fist wash your hands. Then put on gloves. Make sure you have all the things you need close. Use a cotton ball to clean the area with alcohol. Hold the flap of skin you want pierced. Press the piercing needle through the skin clear through to the other side.(Dont slant it just take it staight through.) With the needle still piercing the skin, put the belly ring through the hole behind the needle as you remove the needle. Once the needle is out attatch the ball to the belly ring. Then use a q-tip to put Neosporin on both sides of the piercing. Healing Time: It takes around 3-6 months to heal. For some it takes 12 months or more to heal. It depends on how well you take care of it. CLEAN TWICE A DAY UNTIL ITS HEALD 1. Wash your hands before you clean it. Dont touch it other than to clean it. 3. Clean it with antibactirial soap like Dial or Soft soap. 5. Pat it dry with cotton or q-tips. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL TO CLEAN!!! It dries the out the skin. http://www.sunad.com/archive/pubs/2006-05-04/photos/focus1d.jpg

  • haii i pierced my belly button the other week n it didnt hurt at all all i used was a needle n ice it worked good n it didnt even go red i reacon ur best bet is goin to a pro but if u do it urself b careful n look after it by washing it regularly but not with soap or alchol. n e way wen i pierced mine myself its good n not infected
  • You DO NOT pierce your own belly button!!! Let a professional do it for you!! They can tell you what to expect, how to clean and care for it. They will tell you how to know if it is infected. DO NOT do this at home.
  • Well I've done my own, I bought the kit And Used a hollow needle. And Had somene hold the spot i wanted and i pushed it through It was easy and didnt hurt. So ..Just make sure everythings sterile and Take good care of it
  • I've pierced my own ears about 13 times, my lip, my stomach, and my nose. I believe that the more dirt your body's exposed to, the more immune it becomes. Which all of them I just used a needle or a safety pin, didn't bother washing it or anything, and I've never had any bad infections. It can hurt though, you have to be in the right mindset to do it. Good luck! And don't blame me if it goes wrong, I'm only speaking about me personally!
  • wow is that safe?
  • ya CRAZY!!! go to a godamn proffesional. it aint that big of a deal. they dont be asking for iD or nothing. smh
  • Best advice - get it done professionally .If your completely set on piercing your belly button yourself , you must do it properly. You dont want to find that you have an infection or cant fit a belly bar in the whole you've just made . MY ADVICE IS: Get hold of a piercing kit,I bought one from here : http://www.mspiercing.com/Product/piercing-starter-kit-belly-button-ring-2105.aspx When you have this ingenious kit, wash your hands and belly button . Next, clamp your belly button and take out the needle from its super sterile packaging (makeing sure its 14 ga). Push the needle through the whole in the clamp UPWARDS so it is easier to keep it straight.Go all the way through the skin in one go. Put in the ring . VOILA! Be careful throwing out the needle . Put the sharest end into the middle of the cork provided , wrap in paper and put in the landfill rubish. (if anybody gets hurt while handling the rubbish bag you could get fined). After care : Dont mess around with it ,and clean twice daily with the solution provided and nothing else.If not then it will most likey go wrong. As far as pain goes when actually piercing it - it does hurt but thats part of the package and it only takes a couple of seconds. If your dont like the idea of pain then you can buy numbing creams. Something like ametop gel . Put the cream on half an hour before the piercing (covered with a specifically designed see-through plaster) and be sure that you have wiped it all off before the piercing . THIS IS IMPORTANT. Trust me , this is the cheapest way to a successful naval piercing, I have done many piercings for my friends and they've been very please with the results - good luck xx
  • take a needle, a belly ring and a bottle of bacardi then hold your breath and fucking shove the sucker through there rofl im doing it right now
  • Oh my God, Please use a heavy disinfectant.
  • Find a good friend who you trust and who has done piercings before... or just get it done profesionally
  • I don't recommend it... But if you do...do so very carefully...
  • If you really want your navel pierced i would HIGHLY suggest that you get it done professionally !! Doing it home could go very bad very quick and the pors can give you advice that could help a whole lot !! Maybe wait until a holiday like birthday or christmas if you get money then or save up call around and research the place !!
  • When I pierced my nose, first I bought the needle and some stylish rings. All silver or surgical steel. Careful some silver is mixed with other metals. Sergical steel. I was told by the people I bought the stuff from to use a cigarette filter to put inside my nose so the needle doesnt "Peirce" the other side of my nose. I picked a nice spot. Cleaned with alcohol. Wiped any of so area was dry. Put the filter in pressing lightly towards where the needle will be coming though. I actually did it real slow because I was scared I couldn't have gone faster if I wanted. The needle was so sharp I hardly felt anything. I kept the filter in place and got it though. put the ring in the needle hole and pull though. I know this is not the belly but it is a piercing.
  • DONT DO IT. I did it when I was 17 (I'm 35 now) and for one thing it hurt like hell, and it doesn't heal right, I ended up letting it heal closed then getting it done at a shop, I still have a little scar from it too.
  • Yikes! You don't!
  • You simply dont
  • i got a piercing kit and its coming tommorow im 11 yrs old almost 12 and im good with pain but i will probally get it wrong anyways ive tried going to a proffesional but they sent me back even though i had a 16 yr old with me also i was wondering if sumone plz give me tips of how to do it with the kit i done my top (right at the top) earpierce right last year and it aint infected yet and i done it with a lighter and a earing lolll
  • umm..well i pierced my belly button like 2 weeks ago.. and it didn't even hurt..it only took like 10 min for me to do it..im really young..so yeah it's pretty stupid but hey.. it looks cool..ne-ways im just happy it didn't get infected..=]]
  • Call the Undertaker.
  • I was always told a rusty nail and bleach...
  • Man, where can i get the needle?
  • Are navels considered standard or Surface piercings/Industrial
  • WHY do people insist on doing piercings themselves? Just fork up 30 dollars and get it done professionally. You'd have to pay about the same amount for the needles, jewelry, and stuff anyway, so why not pay to have it done by someone who knows what they're doing so nothing goes wrong?
  • well i used a 14 gauge needle and sterilized it then stuck it through and slowly pushed the barbell through afterwards, it only hurt for a secong then it was good...now its perfect. hope that helps.
  • Word of advice... dont. Just read other peoples bad experience when peircing their own belly button on AB. The money is worth getting it peirced at a professional peircer.
  • i pierced mine and it is perfectly fine...i love it and have had it for about 3 years. one good thing to use is lots of ice and Oragel to numb the area, as wierd as that sounds...
  • you should totally get it done professionally, because it gets infected wayyy to easily. i have mine done and it took almost 5 months to heal. but i took it out because of sports. It was wayy easy if you get it numbed first. i got mine numbed first, and yeah you get it numbed by a needle, (shot). it doesnt hurt, and you cant totally feel the needle going in after that. its just a breeze that way, and no pain!
  • i tried it and the neele went all the way through but the belly ring didn't i had to rip it out and then the skin clotted and an entire huger chunk of my belly button fell of seriously this is no lie. then a couple of months later i went and got it professionally done. needless to say it was worth the time and money
  • which is better to pierce your belly, a 14g or 16g? my friend is lending me the piercing needles to do mine, and i wondered if it somehow matters which i use? i'd do it professionally, but i'm not of age, and my mom would KILL me. but anyway, i wanted to get it done sooo badly, but i don't want to wait three years. i just barely turned fifteen. so anyway, 14g or 16g? oh, and, please don't tell me i'm being stupid, bc i know that. but temptation is getting the best of me.
  • go to a shop. its to dangerous to get it done at home
  • You don't! Don't pierce anything yourself at home! Go to a professional.
  • ummm.. i did and it hurt like HELL!!! so did my nose please if you can get a pro to do it because it hurts very bad
  • DO NOT DO THAT. That is dangerous. Please go and have it done professionally.
  • Whats the matter with you??
  • If your goin to pierce your own belly button i suggest that you have somebody help you whether its an adult or not. Make sure u have a belly button ring to put in right after so the hole doesnt close up. find a needle that is as thick or almost as thick as a belly button ring sewing needles work if u find the right thickness. have a friend hold the skin while u push the needle in. or the other way around. ice it for least amount of pain no matter what its gonna hurt, but not that bad I STRONGLY SUGGEST GETTING IT PROFESSIONALLY DONE
  • piering things by yourself is not as bad as everyone mkes it sound for christ sakes. if you look everything up on the internet, have the right tools and make sure they are steralised, and know what you are doing you will most likely be fine! i pierced my bellybutton this morning cause i was hella bored! i'd been wanting it done for ages and i had everything i needed. i made sre though, that everything i hade was properly cleaned and i washed my hands like 20 times before and wore gloves. if i could of, i probley would have gotten it done by a pro, just because it wouldnt of taken so long, but if this is out-of-the-question for you, then doing it yourself is the only other option! yes, it may hurt for a while, but it ends eventually! i say do it! but before you do so, defenetly make sure you want it, and have at least 2-weeks of thinking about it and re-searching it over the internet before you start. good luck to everyone who does it. =]
  • CAREFULLY...AND WITH A BOTTLE OF RUM..IT WORKS BOTH TO DISINFECT AND GET YOU DRUNK!!!!
  • Just Google "Home Surgery Kit" and you'll find all kinds of kits for everything from piercing your belly button to removing entire organs in the comfort of your own home.
  • numb it with ice for half an hour, mark on your bellybutton where you wanna pierce it or it WILL get infected.then clamp it if you have a clamp, if not just pinch the skin on either side and shove a 14 g. or very thick sewing needle through.try and follow it immediately with the jewelry,or it'll hurt like hell. make sure everythingg you use is steralized; washed and firedd. goodluck(:
  • ok. steralize whatever ur using. i suggest using ur lighter. (dont try to steralize it with alcohol first. trust me.) then carefully mark where you want the hole to go. quickly and carefully push it through. dont use ice, cold only makes the body more sensitive to pain. after that, put the ring in and keep it steralized. alot of people are saying not to use safety pins, but i think im gonna do it anyways and just trade the pins out. lol have fun! =)
  • Go to the professionals and let them take care of it. When I was in high school there were plenty of girls who tried just that (wern't old enough/couldn't get parents permission to do it the legal way). Well, you can imagine the results--lots of pus and scarred, nasty looking navels.
  • I wouldn't recommend it. I would only try it if you have great medical insurance
  • unless you have the propper needle and hygene equip dont bother
