  • I saw that, and I didn't think it looked too much like Illinois...it looked like a freakin' corn flake! Probably the strangest thing I heard of that sold on Ebay was the grilled cheese sandwich that supposedly had the Virgin Mary on it. I believe it was sold for about $28,000.

  • 'Ghost' sold for $US65,000 on eBay An online casino has placed the winning bid for a "ghost" being auctioned on eBay. Goldenpalace.com, which last month won a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich bearing the image of the Virgin Mary for $US28,000 on eBay, bought the ghost being offered by Mary Anderson along with the deceased's cane for $US65,000. The ghost and cane attracted 132 bids. The online casino hopes to put the grilled sandwich and the ghost with its cane on tour. Ms Anderson reiterated that the purpose of the exercise was simply to reassure her five year-old-son who was uneasy about living in a house that he felt was haunted by his "mean" grandfather. By way of explanation, Ms Anderson said that her father had died of cancer at home and towards the end had occasionally become irritated with his young grandson and had tapped him with his walking cane. To convince her son that the ghost had indeed gone, Ms Anderson decided to offer her father's walking cane along with his ghost for sale on eBay - with free shipping. -AFP/ABC
