Some parts of New Orleans have been restored, but not all of it. Many areas are still in compelte dissaray. You should call ahead maybe to city hall or something and see what areas are tourist ready...

The tourist places like the French Quarter are in good shape, but the neighborhoods that were damaged are still pretty much like they were after the hurricane.
