We are told that no one knows the day nor the hour of His return, BUT we are also told that if we study the scriptures and learn the signs of the times that we will not be fooled. That tells me that at least some of us will know approximately the year at least of His return. My own personal theory is this: Since the year 2000 came and passed with nothing really happening (opening the seventh seal), I feel the very earliest of His return would be 2000 years from his death and resurrection. That would be about 2034. Since there are to be specific things happening in the world before the time of the Second Coming, the thing to do would be to live a righteous life, follow His teachings, know the signs, and be prepared both temporally and spiritually. That means action, not passivity. A person can't sit back and wait and expect to be saved. Remember, we are save AFTER all we can do. Our actions prove our faith. Take care.

It is rude to ask that people not answer you just because they don't believe in Christ, darlin'. You just removed any chance at knowledge from the majority of the whole world. It thwarts you own growth to ask it. I didn't take away any points because I don't think you meant any harm. I believe in Jesus, and I also believe in the majority of calendars the world over. Something is going to happen in December of 2012. I don't know what it will be, but I believe that it has a whole lot to do with marking Christ's return.

I give it a fifty-fifty chance. My main source of doubt is that people have been predicting 'the end' for so long now, why is this time any different? Well, there are a few signs out there for anyone who has half an eye open, a few things that are possible that weren't possible before so yeah, the odds look good. Read your Bible, then read your science magazines, keep an eye on the news, study modern history in the Middle East and talk to a few serious Bible scholars to get a better idea.

I don't think anyone knows if and when Christ will return, but I can assure you that if he does return and if he does speak, he will not be preaching the Pauline gospel that came along after he was gone. Instead, he is most likely to be preaching the very same gospel he preached the last time, which was not about blood for sin. If you were born after 1948 the year Israel came from around the world back to their land and once again formed a mighty and power nation by prophesy. Then you are the last generation on earth and by Christs words you will not pass away until you see God coming in the clouds. And if you are a child of Jesus and live to hear the trump of God in a few more years you will never die. God is Spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. To understand things of the Spirit requires the Spirit to explain them to you. What is important above all is that one is saved before the coming of the Lord Jesus as no one knows the exact time though God has given us signs to watch. Since this is a question of destiny and nobody knows the day they will leave this earth and the means, then it is imperative that we be ready all the time. The earth will end in thousands of years and not before. The only 'return of the Christ' will be when those that profess to follow him actually starting heeding that man's words. I don't think that will happen in my lifetime.
