Nothing compares to a nice slow train ride. very relaxing in my book. So yeah I like them.

i take very long rides on a train because i'm a train driver! I drive trains below ground on the London metro system,England. they are long rides but going up and down the same track. Not so much liking it but a necessity for my job. A different reply than you were expectimg.lol

My late father worked for the old Santa Fe Railroad. After Amtrak took over the passenger lines in 1971, I could travel practically almost anywhere in the continental U.S. for next to nothing. I learned to appreciate slow rides. Meeting people was great. The worst trip I ever took arrived in Chicago on New Year's Eve 1977 from Los Angeles. The generator burned out in the dining car and it shorted out everything on the entire train. Nothing worked. But I was riding for free. I call it the "worst trip," but, even though it was way below freezing EVEN INSIDE THE TRAIN, it was one of my favorite trips. A lot of people ended up going to the club car and we all huddled together. I have also been on the train in many other countries. Slower rides are usually much more fun than fast rides.

I like riding trains for long distances. On occasions I rode Amtrak from Philadelphia to college in Cambridge via Boston station, and then later that semester, back to Philadelphia.

I go by train almost every day. My usual daily trip to work is c. 50 miles, one way. I also go for longer distances regularly, for instance from my place in Essen to Berlin (c. 350 miles). with the new fast trains, that is a ride of c. 4 hours. anything more than that is not so comfortable, and I prefer the plane for longer distances.

Me! I like riding trains from Montana to Chicago. They are quite fun and relaxing. :)

I do - used to ride them between my parents homes for visits when I was a teenager. Rode the train from the east to west coast a few years ago and really liked it. It is hard to fall asleep at night cause the train moves around so much but the scenery during the day is well worth it.

I love train travel. I enjoy sleeping on trains and seeing all the scenery go by. I have traveled across the USA several times as I don't fly....yet:-) But I really love trains and would probably go this way just because of that. I don't mind the longer travel time. It seems worth it to me.

When time is not of the essence, then train travel is great. Anytime, someone else, drives and you have the freedom to walk, eat, drink, sleep, relax, play games, read, talk...you can't lose.
