  • Yes, I am answering my own question. 1. to keep the government running. 2. healthcare for everyone. 3. schools 4. decent public housing help for the poor. 5. social security 6. food banks 7. state aid 8. FEMA and emergency aid. 9. experimentation for alternative energy sources 10. farmer's aid.
  • Ok, that is a good one: 1) providing healthcare for ALL Americans 2) helping the homeless rectify this condition and survive on the streets until it is rectified. Fund shelters for the homeless. This includes food banks. 3) money to improve education, including decent pay for teachers and supplies 4) decent housing and assistance for the poor, be they working poor, disabled, or the elderly. This includes food banks. 5) funding for the police so they can actually do their jobs 6) funding for FEMA so tragedies like Katrina do not kill so many 7) social security, which is probably going to be all but gone by the time I need it and which is so low that the elderly can barely survive right now 8) money to help abused and stray animals, be it rescue, shelters, and finding them good homes. Add on funding to spay and neuter strays and funding for humane euthanasia when needed. 9) help for farmers so they can survive the bad times, Farm Aid so they can make a living at their jobs... without them we would starve. 10) public transportation. As gas prices skyrocket and fewer people can afford to drive, the glaring lack of public transportation is being seen more and more.
  • Education, education, education, education, education, education, education, education, education, education... That includes paying teachers well, having the best books, computers, whatever available for the kids..increasing the number of teachers...improving the facilities. The U.S. is far behind in educating our young..we are supposed to be the wealthiest nation, the strongest "superpower", and we shamefully neglect our future..which is our kids! :(
  • Keysa there are so many places I cannot name them all but here are my top 2: 1. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children -without them I do not know how I would have made it when my daughter was missing. They truly were a Godsend for me. These are mostly volunteers who give willingly of their time because they themselves have been in similar situations where they had no clue where their child was. It is phenomenal the work and the efforts they go to to help find a missing child. 2. Serenity Acres - this is a local animal shelter that a lady in my town opened to benefit stray and abused animals. This lady, not approving of the county animal shelter (a new person came into our shelter to run it and euthanized over 120 animals, some being Katrina dogs that were displaced) decided to donate 20 acres of her own land, quit her job and gives full time to helping these poor animals that have no where else to go. So those would be my first. :)

FEMA and emergency aid. 9. experimentation for alternative energy sources 10. farmer's aid. most of this list is borrowed from a very reliable source.
  • 1. universal health care or decent health care for everyone 2. build enough apts/shelters for all the homeless to have a place to live 3. fund food banks..they are always running so low 4. job training for anyone low income FREE. If you live in poverty you cannot afford to go to school and you will never get out of poverty without education 5. schools: hire more qualified teachers, smaller classroom sizes, more help for the students who are falling thru the cracks 6. fund shelters for abused and neglected animals so that they would ALWAYS be taken care of and never have to be put down due to lack of space 7. -10 I can't think of any right now
  • I could care less about my tax money funding what ever. I want to keep the money that government extorts from me.
