Prostitute is more of a "profession" so I would say whore since it is not a job title but harsh
-
Whore is a dreadful word, but Prostitute is a recognised profession and much more acceptable.
-
prostitute because it sounds like you've been doing it so long you are now politically correct..."I'm not a whore mother i'm a prostitute.."
-
being called a Whore because if you are called a prostitute chances are you aren't...but being a whore...well that may be up for debate!
-
A Whore does it because she likes it, a Prostitute does it for money. Society looks down on women with "loose morals" so to society a Whore is worse because the prostitute may be just trying to feed their kids.
-
Prostitute has a formality to it while whore is comparable to the "N" word.....H8 the whore.
-
This is an intersting question. I am not sure what the biggest insult is, but probably whore. Here is a good point someone made, and it has to do with the recent Govenor Spitzer scandal: Question: What is the difference between a whore, prostitute, call girl, and escort? Answer: It depends on the John's salary.
-
I think whore is more insulting, more street talk.
-
Everyone knows whore is more insulting, but usually whores don't get paid.
-
Same thing I think, but whore just sounds much worse.
-
Definitely whore - it's my insult of choice actually when I'm angry at someone.
-
What about slut? That's a little off-putting.
-
Whore is more widely used and applicable.
-
I would definitely say whore!
-
Prostitutes are well paid,(some anyway), whores just screw around.
-
neither, i would go for SLUT
-
whore. at least the prostitute is getting paid...not giving it outta both pant legs for free.
-
I suppose it depend on how mad you made them!
-
My question is why would someone be insulted by a word? If the charge is true, there should be no insult. If the charge is untrue, then it shouldn't matter. Am I missing something here?
-
Whore. It is more what someone is than what she does for a living. And anyone can be a whore with the right behavior.
-
Whore. It sounds less classy and gives me a stronger image of a woman who would sleep with anyone for the right price. It also sounds like a really derogatory thing to call some than prostitute does.
-
I find neither one of them insulting.
-
Both actually!
-
Neither word.
-
Calling someone a prostitute just sounds like you're making something up about their job. Whereas if you call them a whore, it sounds like you're referring to their standards and their taste in partners.
-
Well I personally think whore would be more offensive as some very well paid people in that business are often proud they can make so much more at their "craft" than many who work VERY hard in school and take far more "acceptable" forms of making a living. Prostitute is more of a job title and less of an insult than whore. But I myself? I'm just a ...
-
Neither if you you are one. Both if you're neither.
-
Whore...I think that is more offensive!
-
Well, they mean the same thing, don't they? I don't find either of them insulting, but prostitute is just an icky word. Being called a whore sort of turns me on, though, I'm not gonna lie.
-
whore i think
-
Streetwalker, prostitute, whore, "ladies of the evening"..they all mean the exact same thing..selling yourself to someone. I find no distinction among them, no differentiation, nothing that makes one more acceptable or less acceptable. Whether you charge $5000 bucks or $20 , you are that person who devalues herself in the most degrading way. :(
-
I would say whore. Prostitute is a more "serious" word used in the political debates. Even if I think the phenomena itself is bad.
-
Doxie... a prostitute who works the docks...
-
Whore
-
Whore is infinitely more insulting. Prostitute sounds a little bit more expensive. (:
-
Slag.
-
whore. the etymology is simple
-
whore!!!
-
I think whore can be used in a very insulting way. And then there's skank and slut. Elizabeth on the View, who always knows everything, said a skank smells worse.
-
Whore.
-
Whore just sounds more insulting and vulgar.
-
Whore is definitely more insulting.
-
Prostitute, is worse in my opinion.
-
I'd say whore is more insulting than prostitute.
-
whore, it's derogatory, where prostitute is the actual name of the job.
-
The more common name now is `Service Ladies`,but I think that whore would be insulting, they do their job just like we do ours
-
A while back Letterman had a list of 10 worst jobs. Worst was "crack whore" Next year he had a new worst, "assistant crack whore" ;-P
-
whore
-
hard to say. I see it as one being a professional and the other is doing volunteer work... my answer is grossly simplified but I would say whore as I'm certain most prostitutes didn't have a child hood dream to become a prostitute. They were probably in a bad spot and had no other alternative to make ends meet.
-
whore.... yeah... whore would make me feel worse personally.
-
Exactly..........thats why "Lady of the night" should be used.
-
Whore---when I was 9 years old my mother called me a whore, didn't bother me, because I didn't know what it was, just knew it wasn't good.
-
Whore would be more insulting in my eyes.
-
whore
-
whore prostitute almost sounds like a choice that some makes after weighing the cost/benefit factor. Of course it isn't and most prostitutes probably don't have a choice.
-
If you're a proud slapper, its a compliment!
-
Whore :)
-

-
