Neotame is an artificial sweetener made by NutraSweet that is between 8,000 and 13,000 times sweeter than sucrose
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neotame
Neotame Powder is now available to the general public in ounces at a strength of 8000 times sugar. The current best price I have found on-line is from American Health Foods & Ingredients at $48 per ounce.
I have been using this product since February 2010 and have found it an excellent alternative to Liquid Sucralose...much cheaper too (at a cost of $0.02 per cup of sugar equivalance compared to $0.20 per cup of sugar equivalence for Liquid Sucralose (best price I have found).
You may find my posts to the Low Carb Bulletin Board on how to create Liquid Neotame at a strength of 600 times sugar (similar to liquid Sucralose) interesting ;-)
