I have not made that decision yet I do not have accounts on any of those sites.

I don't use it as a means to advertise about myself. I use it to stay in contact with old friends and co-workers. It's simple and much easier than emails or phone calls in some cases (which can be lost). You can only see my page if you are on my friend's list and only those who are my friends in real life are on my page. How the Hell is that advertising myself?!

Well I use Facebook... I dont use it for advertising myself lol Its a very good way for talking to old friends. I've talked to many old friends that I would have completely lost touch with if it wasnt for facebook. I dont use all those stupid applications, many things on faceboook are useless but very conveniant to finding old friends and keeping in touch with people that are no longer in your life.

I didn't join Facebook because I thought I was amazing. I joined because it's an efficient way to keep in touch with friends. A lazy way.... sure. Do of all my Facebook friends care about my photos, or what music I like, or what TV I watch? Nope. But for those that do care, it's there. I'm often confronted by folks that don't 'get' the newest uses of the internet. To them I say..... "You don't have to play along if you don't want to. But we're liking it."

If you don't care why would you be looking? If you are not looking what is the point to your question? Your question seems rather rude and your answers have certianly been so, I suggest you seek some anger management.

I don't use facebook, but the point is that it's an effective way to let people know who you are. My wife is on there all the time, and she uses it to keep in contact with people overseas, interstate, etc. In terms of tastes and photos, it's an excellent way to get gift ideas or see if you're on a similar wavelength to someone else. Besides, we're all of us amazing. We've done things, seen things, believe in things. And, as my grandmother used to say: "If you don't blow your own trumpet, nobody else will!"

I don't think those sites are advertisements. They're social networking sites, allowing people to form connections between friends. The only way you would encounter them is if you purposefully went to the site.
