  • Yes, and not only did I think I was going to die, but so did my doctor and all of my friends. :o) Fortunately, that was over a decade ago, and thanks to new life-saving drug discoveries, my condition is under control. Not gone, but not wreaking 1% of the havoc it did back then. That's why I now work to help discover drugs for unmet medical needs - after all, I wouldn't be here without such work.
  • yes last year.
  • I'm a BIKER, had a ladder fly off the back of a truck at me while on the freeway. When it came at me, it popped open and landed upright in my lane!. This all happened in a matter of seconds, with no time to think, and unable to get out of the lane, I leaned the bike all the way down until the peg was grinding (I was convinced I was going to hit it, so I wanted to lessen the blow) all the while I was holding onto a side mirror of the car next to me to keep from tipping all the way over, and of course I was going like 85mph. I actually believed in my heart I was going to die.
  • Two times. When a tornado was hitting the houses across the street - I thought- "this is it". I was actually calm about it- but worried about my children in the bathtub. I was on the floor as it couldn't hold all of us, and just knew I would be a goner if it hit. (it went in the other direction) The other time worried about a breast cancer test that wasn't looking good. Again, my thoughts were with my children and that they would be motherless. Lucky for me- it wasn't as bad as they thought and I'm still here, and plan to be for at least another 24 years!
  • Yes a few times , I do extreme sports and it is always something you have to think about. I have also thought I would die of heartbreak twice when I lost first my son and then my husband . It seems I am tougher than that.
  • once in the ocean when I was surfing in a storm..and once with my heart seizure and just recently with a near miss accident that I should have hit head on but angels drove the car for me around the car that had stopped in the middle of my lane..I know it had to be angels because as soon as I saw the person turn into my lane and stop, I closed my eyes and was thinking..oh this is gonna hurt... and my car went around the other car, into the merridian, and back to my lane before I opened my eyes..but I remember everything that happened just like I was watching it. oh yeah, by the way, there was not enough "real" time or space between the cars to maneuver like that anyway. supernatural!
  • While working as a cab driver, a passenger put a gun to my head. Thought I would die THAT day. I was lucky he only robbed me and took the cab.
  • I had my first migraine headache (didn't know what was wrong- found out from doc later) and thought it was a stroke or something. Thought I was dying and didn't care.
  • I got attacked by a mugger last year when I was coming out of a resteraunt with my sister. He grabbed me by the hair and put a knife to my throat. I had someone hold me down once and load a gun then shove it in my mouth. I still have a little bit of the chipped tooth (what the dentist couldn't fix.) I have epilepsy. Everytime I have a seizure, right before it starts...I feel like this is it...it's over.
  • I had an impacted, infected wisdom tooth once and seriously considered suicide because the pain was so awful and my dentist didn't call me back right away. I'm glad I didn't, but that is probably the worst pain I've ever had.
