Help answer this question below.
First, i am not a doctor. any 2 year old child that faints, for no obvious reason, should immediately be checked by a pediatrician. there could be numerous medical problems, that need evaluating.
Is fainting prevolant in either side of the childs family?
Fainting, without an outside cause, can be very dangerous, especially in a two year old child. for peace of mind, take your child to a doctor.
This actually happened to me three times, but we called them black outs. I had two cats scans and a cardiogram. The cause is still not exactly clear but believed to be a lack of food or i simply have a bad heart or circulation. Have your kid checked out, this is definatly not brain freeze.
I actually fainted from a brain freeze last week. It can happen, but with kids, you would definitely want to go to a doctor to be safe.
(I know this post is extremely old, but I still want to share the knowledge that you can in fact pass out or faint from extreme brain freeze)

You're reading My wife thinks our 2 year old son fainted today, luckily my wife caught him as he fell off the stool. at the time he was eating ice cream. Is this a brain freeze or something else? This never happened before.
