First of all, Jeopardy-type-question/answer-asker, tea was not introduced to the English in the 18th century. Second, it technically wasn't a monarch that introduced tea to England. It was the wife of a Monarch. Charles II had a lovely wife named? Oooh that's right CATHERINE. Catherine was Portugese, and it happened that tea had made it to Spain by the time Catherine married Charles II. It was 1662 when Catherine brought tea over to England and introduced it to the people. That, if I am chronologically correct, happens to be the 17th century (1600-1700). The only reason I was snippy, as an afterthought, is because I don't understand why this question was asked. You aren't a teacher. And if you are, we aren't your students. Asking a very specific question you already know the answer to seems somewhat pointless, now doesn't it? Who introduced tea to England? Implies that you are interested in a subject and seeking and answer you don't know. Your question only served to act as a "do you know what I know" type question... At least that's the way it seems to me. But you got your answer.
