The last Nobel Prize winner who mainly writes lyrics was the Polish writer Wisława Szymborska, in 1996. In 1995, it was Seamus Heaney, also a lyricist. Since then, all prizewinners were mainly known for their novels, or for theatre (Dario Fo in 1997).
