America was created as a Republic to limit the powers of government to prevent tyranny. It was created to guarantee rights to soverign individuals, who vest limited powers to the government as servants to the people. We are NOT a Republic today. We are a Democracy, where the opinions of the public majority rule, rather than the individual.
