Why do the few seem to get their point across better than the overwhelming majority? is it honestly just because they are "extreme" and louder?

Of course you've heard of the "silent majority." In order for any movement to be noticed, it has to have the real radicals out there drawing attention to the issue or nothing would change. I think it was George Bernard Shaw who said, "A reasonable man will accept anything; therefore, if it were not for unreasonable men, nothing would ever change."
