It's because your body isn't made for drinking such strong things! Good luck!

It could be a number of things. You may have a stomach ulcer or some other kind of dietary problem (excess acid production etc), this would cause your body to reject alcohol. Or it could just be your age, we are more able to deal with large amounts of alcohol at a younger age in my experience! If you are having problems with any of the following- tea, coffee, spicy foods, anything acidic like citruc fruit- you should talk to your doctor in case something is wrong.

Sorry, I missed something- who called who an alcoholic? Anyway, firstly I'm including the following alcohol awareness/ safe drinking links which I think you may find useful. http://www.domicilium.com/iomalcoholadvisoryservice/alcohol%20poisoning.htm http://www.youthinformation.com/Templates/Internal.asp?NodeID=90281 http://www.drinksense.org/young-people's-service/young-people's-service/things-you-might-want-to-know-about-alcohol.html The main result of alcohol poisoning is damage to the liver. This can very in severity, and in potential for recovery. Because you have affected your liver's ability to process alcohol, it stands to reason that the amount and strength of alcohol your body is able to process will have considerably decreased. This is your body's self-protection mechanism. Your body is unable to process what you are putting into it, and therefore it protects itself by causing you to vomit. There is a chance that your body will repair itself in time and you will be able to drink slightly more. Ironically, the best way to speed this process is to lay off alcohol altogether. Your liver needs around 8 weeks completely without alcohol (that includes beer and wine!) in order to begin to heal itself, so I suggest that you go cold-turkey for at least a few months. A generally healthy lifestyle with plenty of iron (leay green veg, lean red meat, pulses)and not too much saturated fat will also help the process along. If you have not already done so I also suggest that you consult with your Doctor for further advice and guidance. Incidentally, drinking 8 shots of rum a night is not an especially good idea even for someone without past liver damage. But I'm sure you knew that anyway, didn't you?

I think its also somewhat of a physiological problem also. When I think of hard alcohol, I cringe. Im not even being dramatic, I just cant stand it. I could easily vomit just by smelling hard alcohol. I weigh 215, so its not really a body weight issue. I think my mind just wont let me have alcohol. My friends know about this problem of mine, and paid me 10 dollars to take a shot and keep it down. Lets just say I rented the shot for about 10 seconds.

This happened to my friend's brother. he was an alcoholic for about 5 years...Drank tons of beer and tequila all the time. Now he is allergic to alcohol. It comes with many years of abusing your body. On the other hand...my friend's dad drank a lot for about 20 years. e got cancer and had tons of tests, and his doctor said that his liver was as healthy as a teenagers, even though he drank for so long. The doctor told him that it was because he always had a full stomach when he drank, and even while he was drinking he kept eating. Food is good before you drink...never drink on an empty stomach

i would not know the medical reason for why you cannot touch alcohol (at least the hard type). however, you will be fine if you don't drink again. i find it very sad that many people think that to have a good time you have to have liquor in the mix. most of my friends even though they enjoy a cocktail on occasion, when we come together for a gathering never abuse of the drinks that may be offered. i myself do not like wine and or beer, however i do like the mixed kind. even then i tell myself that if this is going to addict me to the point of abusing i would rather refuse to drink. so actually i choose to not drink at all. i have never been to gathering where any of my friends have gotten drunk. yet we have so much fun!! there is alot more to life than drinking. you can enjoy a glass of wine. it has proven to have medicinal and health benefits. the bible tells us that the apostle paul recommended timothy to drink wine for his stomach problems. so enjoy a little wine and avoid excess.

Phisiologically you will never forget it.

Your body is telling you what your brain obviously hasn't figured out yet, you need to stop drinking so much alcohol.
-
Why !!! Because your body is telling you don't drink it, so dont drink it !!!! If you broke out in a rash from eating strawberries everytime wouldnt you stop eating them ?????? dahhhhhhh !!!!!

Total sobriety is usually a mental responce from an bad experience with alcohol. I personally think it is great... think about all the people out there struggling to stay away from drinking. It is not always fair..is it? I sometimes want to get drunk soo much, that I and up with this 'condition'... :)
