As a teacher, I got sick and damned tired of telling kids to pull their damn pants up and act like humans.
If it is a civil rights violation I don't care.
I am so tired of seeing 15 year old ass crack it's not even funny.

I consider it to be an act of urban beautification. Eliminating those eyesores will make Riviera Beach that much more attractive.

Nothing but good can come of this.

    I LOVE IT!!!

I want it to spread to my county VERY badly.

It's indecent exposure to walk around in your underwear, and this is just TOO close to that barrier.

A civil rights violation? Heck no! (If Florida can outlaw thongs and even "Brazilian" style swimsuits on their beaches, they can outlaw this.

I just wish they'd make it a part of a citizen's arrest powers that, when we see somebody with "sagging" pants, we're authorized to walk up and give them a wedgy!

Am I the only one who still realizes that the trend of sagging pants started in the prison system, as a way to tell who was a "bitch"?

I hate seeing people w/ the saggy pants and underwear hanging out. My brother wears them, I make him pull up his pants before he enters my house.
I am for the saggy pants law, maybe if they have to pay some fines they will start keeping their pants up.

I think it's awful that it's a law. How to dress shouldn't be a law. But, it should be perfectly legal for someone to smack these dumb ass kids upside the head for trying so hard to look dumpy instead of having a little pride in themselves. And little old ladies should be able to use their canes!

its an old prison code - i dont understand why anybody would want to dress that way intentionally - the police like it tho because the stupid thugs cant run off w/o their pants falling down

I think anyone who wears sagging pants is a damned fool. These dummies probably do it because they think it is in vogue. I believe that such a law forbidding it is proper but only if several inches of the crack of the wearer's ass is shown when they are standing or walking. It shouldn't be a criminal offence to do this but it can be a local ordinance with a fine as a consequence. I don't want to appear as a purist but it seems to me that the majority of the general public don't want to be looking at the crack of a person's ass. I realize that some people when they bend over, especially if they are working, the crack of their ass will show but sometimes that can't be helped because pants tend to slip down if not tightly belted.

I hate sagging pants, they look ridiculous. But I think working up legislation on them and passing a law on them is even more ridiculous. It really is a waste of time. Don't they have anything more important to do? If they don't, then their community must be a regular Eden.

What I find funny, is that baggy jeans is a thug trend...no real thugs mother would ever condone this behavior nevermind go out shopping for them...The funny/sad part is all these wannabes mothers go out shopping for their kids and start buying them clothes 3-9 sizes too big (probably because your guidance counselor told them thug life seems to be popular these days) What you should do is stop worrying about someone elses style and be yourself...However, this is America and no law will ever effect the way we dress additionally we never thought a being a thug as something to envy but shit you must have nothing better to do.

Why is it so hard for people to just wear a belt. People think that it makes them look cool, but it just makes them look like a slob. It is an inconvenience to the person wearing their pants like that because you are constantly having to pull your pants up or you'll trip on them, and NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THAT MUCH OF YOU! This is for all of you who are saying it is a violation of freedom of speech/expression. I understand what you are trying to say, but it is also indecent exposure and a safety hazard.

I don't like seeing a dudes pants so low that i can see 70% of his underwear, but I don't think anyone should go to jail for it.

it makes since but then again, it doesnt. idk why they have to have theyre ass hanging out. though they arent actually showing any skin so i guess theyre isnt anything wrong with it, cleavage is more revealing than sagging your pants and its not illegal.

That doesn't make sense. The First Amendment gives your the freedom of speech and you can speak in more than one way. There is speaking with your words or speaking with your actions. The First Amendment still covers speaking with your actions as long as they do not indicate violence of things like that. Sagging could be interpreted as speaking with your actions therefore protected by the First Amendment.

I guess it would really depend on how "sagging" they were. If they showed the rear end, uncovered, then it would be indecent exposure. If they are just looking stupid, then I don't see how it could be illegal.

I definitely think it's a fashion crime but I'm not for outlawing it. I prefer a free society, personally.

What, you never heard of the clothing police? Try wearing a pair of alligator boots, or (females)take your top off at the beach. Better yet, see what happens if you wear nothing under a trench coat and it accidentally falls open in front of the high school.

It should be. Who the hell wants to pay taxes to support fashion police?

Maybe if you didn't pull art classes from every single school to pay for police in the first place, these kids might realize how stupid they look.

If they're exposing themselves, it is already illegal. This law is just plain petty.

It's a violation to my rights to be able to choose what I want to see. I consider it public indecency. A man showing his underware, his butt or the crack of his butt is disgusting. I only want to look at it from the man I choose to not any man out in the street. To me it's PUBLIC EXPOSURE AND INDECENCY!!!

I haven't heard of it, but I'm glad they did. Maybe they can do that here, I'm sick of seeing every dude's butt, boxers, and crusty underwear.
    .
I'm sure it's violating some freedom of expression right...

If I can't wear a g-string bikini on the beach in Florida then they can't wear sagging pants. Just like no one wants to see my beautiful butt, I don't want to see their ugly dirty underwear.

If I have to cover up where are my rights?

civil rights? where does it say you're allowed to wear your pants around your ankles in public?
it's technically public indecency. but that doesn't necessarily mean there should be a law.

however, people shouldn't have to be around a bunch of idiots who have to hold their pants up themselves. if they would just buy the right size instead of thinking "man, if i bought these pants 5 sizes too big, i'd be soooo cool!"

They got the same thing in Flint I really don't like it because it's a step away from communism if you ask me. Next they'll be banning long T's and anythng deemed not mainstream acceptable. I mean people have been sagging their pants what 10-15 years and the time to combat it would've been 10-15 years ago. And everyone who keeps saying be a man pull your pants up most people who sag to the extreme are 15-17 18-19 can't be excused from your point but it's mostly a trend and mark my words will spark more major beefs between blacks and police.
