Cheap is in the eye of the beholder... and nothing is cheap in NYC. A cheap hotel is maybe a little less than 200 a night.

Try www.moneysavingexpert.co.uk go into the forum and find holidays and there is a full section on New York with cheap and clean hotels that the members have stayed at and recommend and websites that may help you.I was planning a trip there and found this site great...good luck.

A lot of the airline employees stay at the Milford Plaza. It's within walking distance of the theater district and also the Port Authority. A restaurant adjoining the hotel. It's functional. Nothing's cheap in New York that I'd want to stay in. Cheap to me is $100/nite and you won't find that unless you go to one of the other burroughs and maybe not even then.

I found some good deal on http://www.jetsetgotravels.com It provides search option like near a landmark etc But beware ... cheap hotels can be trouble some times so check reviews of the hotel your are going to book. Check the exact location of hotel from google maps.
