I wondered the same thing because of last night's episode and I say ABSOLOUTELY it wouls make the show funny and interesting instead of so serious.

They are best friends. That is all banter put on for the show. They hang out together off the set.

Ha!Ha! Did you call into the show last night? That was funny. They are really good friends, but they could stage something for fun. Like Ryan really making Simon angry, and he finally just jumps up and goes up there.

We have the amazing artist Rand Jackson, the beautiful and stunning Paula Abdul, and some old grumpy Brit. Simon: Watch it, Ryan. Ryan: Ahh, hi, criticizer! How are you? Simon: (gets up and reaches for Ryan's neck) I'm tired of you! (punching) Get out of here! (chases him off stage and out into the streets of LA while everyone stops to watch the show nd getting photos with their phones.
