I don't think it's racist, just ill-advised and inaccurate. Obama has a lot of fine qualities: how many politicians have you heard who are actually inspiring to listen to, regardless of their race? Obama is intelligent, shrewd, navigates the political waters well, and seems to authentically believe what he's saying. I think with some voters it helps that he's black -- but that also hurts him with other voters... perhaps it's a break-even quality, I don't know. Most people don't care, they just want the right person for the job.

If she said that, I think it is a racist comment. Can you provide a link to your source?

people always just assume that whenever you aren't white (be it hispanic, asian, black, w/e) that if you succeed in anything, it's obvious that you only did because you pulled the race card somewhere along the line. sigh...to me that's just "reverse" race-card pulling lol :x

Everyone with a brain knows that Obama wouldn't be where he is right now if he weren't arguably black, just as Palin wouldn't be where she is right now if she weren't a woman. Obama is where he is--a Senator and the Democratic nominee for president--because he became an instant media sensation and darling, and he became that because they saw here was a (liberal) black man who could become president. And then his handlers pushed him through at record pace, even though he has virtually no experience and no qualifications, and rushed up the ladder so fast he's had no time to get any. Of course, Lincoln didn't really have any qualifications or experience either -- and had a few skeletons in his closet too -- but he at least had a definate, simple, and absolutely open as well as moral platform: No Slavery in the Territories! -- which is a heck of lot better than a mountain of fluff about hope and dreams, all masking a radical socialist leftist agenda. No one's saying though that Obama's race is the only trait he has: hes telegenic, charismatic, authoritative, and has presidential bearing. But if he weren't black, the media and George Soros would never have taken such an interest in him, and the bulk of his genuine enthusiasts wouldn't have been so enthusiastic about him and the prospect of him being president, at least so early in his career. That being said, if Obama's actually elected - which seems likely - it won't be so much because he's black as because McCain ISN'T a Republican.
