(I'm not a journalist, but my neighbor is and she enjoys discussing her profession) It is best to do a lot of internships, talk to local newspaper companies. Also, if there is a small newspaper company, try to write an article for them to publish for free. Do that a few times and keep the articles that are published. If you want to go further, go into college with a profession in journalism or communication or something. Keep doing internships, try to get paid once your in college. Get a job in relation to journalism if newspapers won't accept you yet. You'll get in if you are passionate about it! =)
