  • I think the concept of 'God' in most beliefs is limited to one who can 'create' from 'nothing'.
  • That is what spirits and ghosts really are...
  • I don't believe we are "gods" to any animals. If we're any fictive being, it would be Satan
  • We are infinitely superior to cockroaches,... so perhaps from the bug's perspective we're 'godlike', but I seriously doubt they have the capacity for thought that goes that deep. (Their nervous system is so different from ours, they could live indefinitely without a head, if they didn't need to eat.) But God, (capital "G"), Almighty is the creator,...and THAT is why he is worthy of worship. You didn't create cockroaches, did you? (If you did, that was WAY messed up.)
  • Can you create a cockroache? If you can, then you might be god to them.
  • Sure they would be god-like, but they wouldn't be gods in the sense that they are supernatural. I'm sure we would be considered god-like to the small peasants of the dark ages, with our mobile telophones, hydra jets, hydrogen bombs, etc.
  • Humans invented god(s), but where you fail is that cockroaches didn't invent us. Those who think humans are superior than cockroaches live an arrogant existence too. There are infinitely more cockroaches than humans and in fact, pound for pound insects outnumber all human life by a factor of well over 10,000 to 1. Insects will inherit the earth while humans will force ourselves extinct. Insects never engage in completely self destructive behavior for greedy purposes, but humans always have. Who are the gods then? God, the word is a purely human idea never proven true and one that will NEVER be proven true because it isn't true. It's just a concept to control people and nothing else.
  • We are all of the Source of creation. We are more evolved than other creations, that does not make us GODS to anything. We are of God we are not God
  • If roaches had the capability to somewhat "know" us I don't think they would consider us gods except for the fanatics among the roaches. They wouldn't knows us as gods because they would see us live, build, fight, destroy and die, they would either consider us forces of nature or dangerous monsters. Or not the all controlling omnipotent god but more of a demi-god like a Greek pantheon type god, because if they could know us then they would see that as powerful above them that we are, we don't always understand them, we don't always answer their prayers and we are not always in control of our destiny.
  • Both humans and cockroaches evolved for the same amount of time because all life on earth shares a common ancestor. We came into existance by evolution, not instantaneously or existed always. Therefore, we are natural. Gods are supposed to just 'be there' withou explanation. Which is pretty improbable. I mean, if you asked 'where did that cockraoch came from' and someone told you 'It just was always there', you'd think he would be stupid. Well how about God? He is much more complex and complicated than a cockroach, therefore he needs an even bigger explanation, and since there is none, it logically follows that gods most certainly do not exist.
  • It would seem certain that we are INCOMPREHENSIBLE to the cockroaches. And it is quite easy to imagine beings that are similarly incomprehensible to us. Whether or not such beings are 'gods' though is entirely a matter of semantics. They certainly are not God in the Christian sense of the word "The extra universal cause and creator of the universe". By that definition we are not 'God' relative to the cockroaches, Despite much trying we have entirely failed to eradicate them (or even turn them into a endangered species). For a God, it would be merely a matter of saying "be dead !" to the cockroaches. In other religions the gods are less absolute in their properties, As an example the greek parthenon have a god Vulcan who is the god wathing over smiths and metalworkers, Vulcan is also a cripple, having had his legs broken by some senior god. Apparently neither he, nor the Greek god of doctors, are capable of curing cripples. We could say we are that kind of gods to the cockroaches, beings who are greater by degree, but not beings who are absolutly greater. regards JakobA
