If he's already showering everyday, then he might just not be wearing deodorant. I don't think it's really your place to tell him he stinks. Let your friend do it. It'll be less embarrassing to him as well.

Some people have a special aroma, problem. these are people that eat garlic or other spices. the aromas seeps through their body and out the sweat glands.....ugh! i doubt if three showers a day, will resolve this problem. But, if its just normal body odor, there are special deodorants for this situation. some are by prescription, only. Try this first: find a small cardboard box. go to walmart and buy the following in the small travel sizes...can of deodorant, small bar of soap, washcloth, and a bottle of water. put all in the box. wrap the box. set the box in a proper location for your friends brother to see and watch what happens. worked for me.

Some people have body odor due to a medical condition that they have no control over. If he is 35 years old I am sure he is quite aware of the importance of bathing/deodarant. I am assuming you do not live with him and you don't really know how often he showers or if he uses deodarant. How embarrassed would you be if he answered you that he bathes and uses deodarant but has odor that is not under his control.

Tell him it like your joking and then he'll get self consious and do it. Make sure you say "no really you stink"

Definitely get your friend to tell him for you since they are family. Are you friends with your friend's brother? If you are, assuming you are both adults, you can say something to the effect of "Look, we are both adults and I am telling you this as a friend. Your body odor is pretty strong and not in the good way." I would think that would be a gentle way of putting it. And if he gets angry then he's a jerk and don't associate with him anymore.. But if he's a normal, understanding guy then he should thank you. After that you can discuss getting him a good deoderant stick or a good body wash!
