Help answer this question below.

I connected a Harddrive via a USB Adapter to my new pc which runs vista. How do I get the pc to recognize the hard drive. Connecting doesn't seem to work. Tried with another hd and same problem on two computers. Hard drive is just not showing. Help Please

Ok, this may sound silly.... but did you plug in the power cable for the hard drive?

If so, it seems likely the drive has failed. It happens. Try another external USB drive, if the other one works, that's a pretty solid conclusion.

- Power is connected. Adapter is brand new. And tried another drive and still same problem.

- You tried 2 drives in 2 different PC's and they both fail? Wow, the statistical odds there are.... minute.
  
  So that suggests user error perhaps. What are you using to determine whether or not the drive is "showing"? Exactly what are you looking at?

- As instructed by the guide, I opened my computer or comupter in Vista. I even went to disk storage management. All the help menu suggested was creating a partition. According to the adapter it should be a simple plug and play device.

- Do you know what you're looking for when you "opened my computer"? How do you know it's not there, what are you expecting to see?

As with any additional drivers I should see, either a path indicating driver D found or something similar to this. B/c I only see the original driver and the recover storage as I did prior, it would appear as though the drive is not connected. Even looking up the driver from a search feature brings up nothing.
