  • I have withdrawn my answer. Glenn is correct.
  • Your mother's brother is your uncle. Your uncle's child is your first cousin. Your first cousin's child is your first cousin once removed. (For a more detailed explanation of how to determine familial relationships, check out http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Ensign/1999.htm/ensign%20april%201999.htm/i%20have%20a%20question.htm?f=templates$fn=document-frame.htm$3.0$q=$x=#LPTOC1) *********** "DARRYL61: Based on the chart on the link you provided, the answer is second cousin." Then you misread the chart. On the chart, your mother and her brother (your uncle) occupy the positions of Clyde and Robert. You occupy the position of Paul. Your mother's brothers grandson occupies the position of Amber. You then find the nearest common generation. That would be you and your uncles child (your first cousin). Your uncle's grandson in one generation removed from this common generation. So, he would be your first cousin once removed. Your child would be his second cousin since they would be of the same generation which is the second generation away from the common siblings (your mother and uncle). You need to do more than just look at the chart. You need to read the explanation that goes with it.
