I only clean my laptop screen when it's visibly too dirty. I believe frequent cleaning causes scratches on the screen, so I first blow off all lose dust particles and then wipe with a clean cloth. Right now I can see little dust particles settled on my screen.

Actually I have been looking at a muddy little streak on the left hand side for about 5 days now,
My cats love to lay on the monitor because it is warm and they leave footprints on the screen sometimes.

It's never dirty. I hate dirty screens on computers or tv's; fingerprints on mirrors, or even a spot on a windshield of a car.

My monitor at work has only gets cleaned if someone touches it and disturbs the even layer of dust on it. My monitor at home gets cleaned weekly because my wife is a clean freak.

I clean my monitor every three months, I take the cover apart and blow the dust away from all the components. I use Dust cleaner from Compusa, keep it clean, have USP hook to it, shot off your computer and monitor when you don't use and would last for ever.
