  • They asked you for the time, not the date. That's why.
  • In the context to which they asked, it probably isnt legitimate. Time encompasses all human dates & moments, but they just want to know the time of day in their present location on Earth, in this present year, on this particular day. Its reasonable to say 2008, or Tuesday, but for everyone except maybe yourself, this isnt going to be accurate enough.
  • It's not legitimate if you really knew what they were asking. You knew they weren't asking for the date or the month. You were well aware that they were asking fro the time.
  • No, that's not really a legitimate time. And it's not funny or all together very creative either. It'd be funnier if you said, "Nope, I'm not from around here."
