Yes, 9/11 acted as a wake up call for America. Some people have many memories about that particular day. Memories about where they were and what they were doing. No we reacted the way our government wanted us to, so it would allow us to kill even more innocent people in the name of oil. We were told Bin Laden is to blame, then we killed Sadam, and then we have a task to "free Iraq" which doesn't tie into Bin Laden at all because he's hiding in Pakistan. And Iraq is in worse shape than before. We set ourselves up for a never-ending war, an expensive war that is costing our country trillions of dollars we don't really have. I have woken up all right.

Even if you are living in a white house, you must not be white. Arabs are white, by the way. It strenghtened the conservative forces in the US just like the Iraq war strenghtened the extremists.

America has been and will continue to be a melting pot for all colors. However, 9/11 should have been a wake up call for America period. This great country was founded on a basic principle of freedom, provided by a Democratic republic, where the elected officials were supposed to represent the people who voted for them. Instead, it has a become a system where the only thing that our elected officials represent are themselves. Wake up call? From the nightmare of our own government taking all the resources for themselves, and leaving the hard working middle class behind. What once was a great manufacturing country, that held a strong lead in health, education, morals, faith, etc., has now become a country where the middle class is falling through the cracks and government is competing with the people for resources. Tell me people, what happens when there is no more middle class? 90% of this countries wealth is held by only 1% of the people. Can we afford a country where there are only two classes (the rich and the poor)? We know what happens to societies that opporate in this fashion. Yes, 9/11 should be a wake up call, but not for just "white America". It should have been a wake up call for ALL of America. It is time we take our country back from the corrupt poloticians and make America what our for-fathers dreamed it should be.
