  • It makes them feel happy & useful!
  • It brings their 'questions answered' ratings up.
  • Because they like being stupid and annoying. On here, you can ask an unlimited amount of questions but on others you can ask how many based on your points. It gets annoying when you waste your points on "i don't know" answers. One time I posted that I was looking for something and that I already tried Ebay and they didn't have it and some jerk posted "try ebay".
  • Sometimes people are so bored, so they try to give a good enough answer
  • some people are jerks
  • Because they think that they know the answers and to maybe to gain points..^_^
  • I don't know Haha! Just kidding, but really, I don't know. Just like right now, I'm giving you my opinion on this subject that maybe people feel they need to respond to the question even if they don't know the answer. I personally do it for the health realted topics, and I'm usually downrated for the "I can't tell you what's wrong with you, you should go see a doctor" answers that I give. But that's just me...
  • Maybe people think they know? They're just trying to help? They're bored? There may be a lot of reasons, but I don't know that when this happens, it's one hundred percent ill intent every time. I doubt it. As for wanting to get your ratings up or percentages high, well the person writing ''I don't know'' isn't anymore at fault in this as whoever actually gives them points for it. :/
  • Because they can.
  • Probably a answer in their opinion
  • why don't you ask them.. oh wait you just did!! real answer is that people think they know more than they actully do!
  • Probably to get points
  • For points, To be annoying, or because they think they know a good answer but in reality they don't.
  • like this question?
  • Points points points (who doesn't love points!!! hurray), or because they feel the need to add their VERY IMPORTANT opinion.
  • 1) no idea. ;-) 2) Some possible reasons: - they just see it as an opportunity to make a joke. - they just want to say that they are also interested to know the answer. Answering the question pushes it again to the top of the list, so it get more chances to get an answer. - they could give some clues, even if they don't hae the answer. - they are interested in points, and they know that some askers will give them some points independently of how good the answer is. - they are erroneously convinced to know the answer. - just wanting to talk to someone - rebels without a cause - the usual trolls 3) In my case, I usually don't know the answers to the questions I am answering, but I find it fun to look for them.
  • Those people who think they know it all really annoy those of us who do!
  • I'm sorry I don't know the answer to this question...
  • Probably for the same reason that certain people feel compelled to post questions they either know the answer to or really don't want to know the answer to
  • Obviously it is all about the points - - -
  • Some people I find can be ignorant and do it just to have an argument.
  • Just to see if you're paying attention.
