  • Davoomac actually asked how to play a C major scale, not chord. A C major chord on bass can be played the same as it is on guitar (only with 4 strings), fret the 3rd fret on the A string (this is a C) and the 2nd fret on the D string (this is an E) and leave the G string unfretted like this- E ------- A ---3--- D ---2--- G ---0--- Then play these 3 strings, that will give you a C major triad. Alternatively (this is the way I prefer) you can play it on the E string like this- E ---8--- A ---7--- D ---5--- G -------
