as nice as that sounds I do not believe so. Too many people want to be more powerful than everyone else.
-
No.
-
Not even close. I wish we would stop trying.
-
No i don't think it'll ever happen
-
When the last breath is breathed, then shall there be peace.
-
I personally don't think so. How can it be when human nature doesn't allow for it? (This is my opinion, although I do believe that it's also fact).
-
Yes, for there will be peace one day. However, this peace won't be because of mankind's doing. Hypothetically, if all people were united under one religion and one government, that one ruler would be Satan himself. Oh wait, that will happen before we get true peace. I forgot.
-
no, not with religion, money, and territorial fights are in abundance(tho the root cause of fighting is money)
-
naahhh, too much work
-
No. I don't believe so. There will always be conflict between cultures and religions. And to take those things away...would start world war III.
-
No. However, this fact ought to come with a major disclaimer attached: Just because absolute world peace is a theoretical ideal does not mean that we on an individual level should abandon efforts to be as non-violent as possible. Because however impossible universal world peace may be, various degrees of non-violence, all of which are better than violence, are absolutely possible. People somewhere in the world will always be fighting and killing and dying, but that doesn't make it right to give up trying not to.
-
Mankind will not be able to bring about world peace. God will be the one to bring world peace when the time comes.

as much as i hope and pray that someday we really will live in a eutopian society (the same one they promised we'd be living in by now!!-does anyone remember that? as a kid in the early 90s i was told about the flying cars we'd drive-jetson style, i guess; about the peace and the happiness, i was told that there would be no wars, no arguments, no homelessness, no racism, and so on and so on...i'd kill for all that lol =), but i know it's just not likely and this pretty much sums it up: "if we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other causes for prejudice by noon."-george aiken

I think it is.As human consciousness raises and a new age arrives fully people will shed their lower or base traits for the higher qualities of pure love and peace.

I'm gonna be devils advocate here, Perhaps when attention is turned onto a galactic scale, and our differences become pety in comparision. The game Spore is a good example of this, if anyone has played it. During the civilization stage your species is fighting with itself, and must be unitied between either war, or religion. But once your species stopped fighting, attention is turned to space, and your enter the space age. Then your fighting with/against other species from other planets, and never have to fight with your own.

sure, through superior firepower. honestly if you want in the world the peace that exists in america then you are lost. this peace is not going to last. either we will banish the traitors in government and reverse this aristocracy which they have created, or we will have a revolution. I hope we can do it cleanly but either way, the average american should not be working their asses off for less than 1% of 1% the salary of the rich

Believe though we may be, but it isn't attainable. Not only because of our differences in culture, wealth, status quo; not only because of our different wants and desires; but more so of the concept of world peace itself and how it is to be attained. Others resort to prayer, protest, rally, terrorist acts, violent movements, arms race, military might. The means seem to go endless in trying to achieve world peace. Each one prescribing an action that may be far from peaceful to the other parties.

it isn't human nature (or even ANIMAL nature)
