No. I would cosider that a low blow no matter who used it. For example, those who want to bug out of Iraq are not unpatriotic. They're simply cowards.

This is a very touchy subject, it can be even more than religion. Hundreds of thousands of our fore fathers died for this country and our freedom. Would you dare question them?

It is usually (almost always?) used that way, ie, usually done in a way that questions someone's honor, which isn't fair game when it's just an issue that reasonable people could disagree about. Other people, eg, I suspect Sakhalinskii, would happily agree that they're not patriotic.

Nah, it's just stupid. It's a cheap way of avoiding real issues. Patriotism leads to aggression, it is preferable that someone is less a patriot and more a pacifist.
