  • No. I would cosider that a low blow no matter who used it. For example, those who want to bug out of Iraq are not unpatriotic. They're simply cowards.
  • This is a very touchy subject, it can be even more than religion. Hundreds of thousands of our fore fathers died for this country and our freedom. Would you dare question them?
  • It is usually (almost always?) used that way, ie, usually done in a way that questions someone's honor, which isn't fair game when it's just an issue that reasonable people could disagree about. Other people, eg, I suspect Sakhalinskii, would happily agree that they're not patriotic.
  • Nah, it's just stupid. It's a cheap way of avoiding real issues. Patriotism leads to aggression, it is preferable that someone is less a patriot and more a pacifist.
