  • G'day Ohthunderbelle, Thank you for your question. You could replace your bras regularly so that the underwire doesn't have time to escape. Alternatively, cut the underwires out or don't get underwire bras at all. Your suggestion is another alternative. No doubt at some stage some guy is going to suggest that you don't wear bras at all. :>) Regards
  • I dislike wired underwear at any time but if the wires come through I would discard them or remove the wires.
  • Try handwashing your bras instead of throwing them in the washer. This will save some wear and tear on the underwire.
  • I have just about given up on underwire bras. I now try to purchse the wire-free ones; they use design and stitching techniques to provide the same support as underwire, which is plastic anyway, so wire is kind of a misnomer. When I started taking aspirin daily as a stroke preventative, I started bruising where the ends of the wire rest against me. Yuck!
  • Not a permanent solution, but duct tape will work in an emergency. I have had to do that at a wedding once. It got the bridesmaid through the ceremony at least.
  • I find the better quality bras and getting professionally fitted really helps. And then have enough of them that they can rest and aren't always being washed and dried and worn and washed and .... Plus wash them in a pillowcase with the hooks done up. They keep their shape better and everything on them seems to stay nicer, like the hooks, straps, lace.
  • ugh. i hate it when that happens. i use two bandaids, with the softie part where the underwire breaks out.
