  • Walt Disney was a misogynist. The only Disney cartoon I've watched that doesn't demean and threaten women in some way or another is Lilo & Stitch (which is a great cartoon).
  • Walt Disney made good things happen for millions of children / people and I think that is a remarkable genius -- Hours and hours of movies and fun for the whole family , is a great thing
  • I heard that he was dishonorably discharged from the military which doesn't necessarily make him evil in my eyes.
  • As for the Snow White and misogyny question (which could be extended to almost every Disney movie made prior to the 90s) - Snow White's entire purpose in this movie is to avoid being killed by her "evil" step-mother (misogyny), clean house for dwarfs and wait to be "saved" by a prince. Is this a fair or non-sexist view of women? There are no "good" mothers in any Disney film prior to the Lion King (and even in that, the mother is a minor character). Either there is no mother (ie. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) or there's an "evil" step-mother. So, yes, without question, Disney's movies were clearly misogynistic and it appears he had some issue with mothers in general.
