I'm bisexual, but I still think my answers valid so... It depends on the situation, it could very well be that she's speaking total and complete nonsense and I don't want to listen, or it could be that I'm busy ding something, or I could be *gasp!* actually listening. Of course this all hinges on that I'm dating someone, which isn't the case and has not been for the past month and a half =/. Also...My "women"? Shall I grab her around the waist and carry her to the bed, grunting and beating my chest all the way?

Well, when she starts to drown on and on about work or fashion,I tune out after awhile because I'm not really intrested in those things.

That's usually what happens they are nagging.

a little of both ...but its normally the one thing that pisses me off the most and thats its the 10,000 words that are entirely surplus to any conversation ...instead of just getting to the bloody point ..its an entire film script of words when 6 will do ...why ..oh why do females do this?..this is the reason we men turn off..shut the ear doors so we don't get permanent damage done to them ...:)

More often than not, there's just some misunderstanding as to the definition of "Listening.

I forget which comedian observed this, but I totally believe it: Guys can only hear a certain number of words per day. Go over that limit and we just can't hear anymore. It's not you, it's us. We can't handle it.

Much as I love you all, you just talk TOO MUCH. You also often analyze everything to death and you MUST explain! Let me explain, let me explain... NO. Please! I really don't need an explanation all the time. I don't need to understand where you're coming in every situation. Men are often perfectly capable of just accepting the way you feel about something and we don't need to understand, relate, or talk about it. And, sadly, the more you go on, the more you begin to become white noise. All that being said, please don't stop talking to me. I love the sound of your voice most of the time and my world would be sooo empty without it. :)

While it may be that the male isn't listening, and genuinely not paying attention, it could also mean that the male isn't treating what she's saying with enough importance. She could be wanting her experiences and feelings validated by her partner, and the male just doesn't understand that. Men usually grow up without that sort of conversation, so it's something we have to figure out later in life. Men also tend to focus on single things at a time, so make sure you've got his attention and stop him doing other things before you say something you actually want him to remember.
