No, Ive never been there.
-
The more I here about that damn place , the more I want to see.
-
Nope! I'm glad I made the right choice the first time. :)
-
Actually yes i am lol. Once my account got suspended at level 7 i decided to come here and i like it!
-
I am still on there with the same username I am using here
-
No. However, I did look there and I don't like it at all. Take a look: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/545609/answerbag_is_the_best_questions_and.html
-
Yup. Got pissed off by the Error 999 messages so I left it. The Error 999 prevented me from posting answers. But I could still post questions and vote for the best answers. But what's Yahoo Answers if you can't answer?
-
Gladly I am not. I've heard nothing but bad things about that site.
-
No i just came straight on AB it just looked the better site...and i was right.
-
I don't like yahoo anything so I guess not.
-
Nothing better than AB.
-
To my understanding a refugee is someone who is obliged to migrate from one place to another due to personal danger. That was not my case unless you wish to call me a moral refugee.
-
I did look but I'm not a refugee.
-
yup this is my profile http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=AgXhjCMMPUdjkYDSFGkBbmjsy6IX;_ylv=3?show=91e2b57c649a78f3809de6d411c1a263aa&preview=true
-
yes, I am, I just recently discovered this site is so much better than Yahoo Answers.
-
I actually happened upon Answerbag first & the first time I came across Yahoo Answers I literally thought to myself "Wow, Answerbag is so much better than this." Seriously, someone could ask a perfectly legitimate question & would get replies like "you're ugly" and "this is stupid". It was ridiculous.
-
No i didnt go there until after i joined AB last week.
-
Yes i am this is my first day here and i like it alot!
-
Yes. Guilty as charged. We can't all be lucky enough to get it right the first time. I, also, wasn't able to leave everything behind, but this is better.
-
Yes...I was on there quite a while before I, along with quite a few others, came to AB
-
Nope. I'm a purebred ABer.
-
Well yes, I'm one of those innocent people who are suspended because of those trolls. I'm so mad at yahoo answers that I will never use any service of yahoo every again.
-
I done did ain't never been there, so I'd have to say no.
-
yes, I was on level 5 if I remember....I was quite helpful. After Hillary got, well you know, I changed my name to Kill Whitey. It wasn't a racist thing, it was a political thing. I was out a couple days later.
-
Oh yes. And I have to say, the best place about that place is that because I know what it's like, I can compare it to this (far better) site.
-
I AM and I WILL NOT go back! The reasons I WON'T return: 1) The "folks" (I think they're a bank of computers) who are supposed to monitor the site, do absolutely nothing to improve the site's effectiveness. 2) They let "the trolls" have free reign, to run rampant and do as they want and please. It's been over 2 months since I was "suspended" from Y!A. As recently as Monday, July 7, 2008, I was awarded "Best Answer" status and had two folks who wanted to add me to their "Friends" list. EDIT: 1-1-09: I was re-instated after 6 months. I DO answer a few Qs which are sent to me. I WON'T go back and actively pursue answering or asking any Qs. Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it! VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Sources: Because you asked. A little stroll down “Memory Lane”
-
Yeah, I refuse to go back. When Da Ben Dan was treated so badly he showed me this site and I have to say I LOVE THIS SITE and i love the people!
-
No I have never been on another question and answer site. I found AB in Dec 2006 and that is where I stayed. The people here at that time helped me through a very tough time. A group of us lost loved ones within weeks of each other and the community closed around us and held us keep it together. Thankfully some of those wonderful people are still here. When I leave here for good that will be my last.
-
Yes! I still have an account, but I'm just too afraid of losing my email account. It's far too easy for trolls to give you a violation notification, and a few of them can result in losing everything on Yahoo. With thousands of emails, that's my worst nightmare with Yahoo! I can not delete my account without deleting my email account, so I will keep it but I just do not want to post there anymore.
-
Yes! I was just a few points away from being a Level 5, with a Top Contributor ranking, and suddenly - no access. I simply don't understand it - I was unfailingly polite, and people asking the questions not only thanked me quite often, one young person is now taking voice lessons at my encouragement. Which made me feel really good. Glad to have found AB!
-
nope.. never ever been on yahoo answers.. ever
-
No, but I am a Yahoo chat refugee. I used to be on Yahoo chat in the 1990's.
-
yes iam. although i wont give away who iam there lol. but i can tell you, ive had my acct hacked 2 times since 2006.im not saying yahoo answers isnt safe, its just not a happy place when i first joined..that is the reason why i found AB. is yahoo answers a big epic failure? maybe. if someone gave me 1.000 and asked to return back to Y!A..i would refuse and stay here.
-
Yes i am only at the moment while they are updating their site.
-
I resigned from Y!A yesterday. I just left.
-
Nah, with answerbag mostly, almost all the time, very little yahoo answers.
-
Yes, I am! I had my account suspended 7 days ago. I started a new one the same day, and it got suspended today. I never even got a violation notice on either account and did not violate the TOS, so I don't know why either account was suspended. I kept my username the same on the second account that I started, so I think a troll must have reported me. Yahoo! Answers' suspension/reporting policy is just ridiculous. So, yeah, I'm here now.
-
Yes i am and i refuse to go back!!!! I like it here and i've only been on here for a few mins! It seems more mature and laid back.
-
I am so glad that I found this website, Yahoo is such a bogus joke with their TOS, they penalize the people who think they are playing by the rules, which in Yahoo's minds they are not and then they cater to the trolls that spew so much hate and offensiveness and them keep them on and no suspensions, reporting or nothing. Needless to say, after I figure out how to move and or transfer my Yahoo email account, I will no longer have anything to do with Yahoo!!! Yahoo answers should be shut down!
-
Kind of, I haven't been suspended so I still have my account there, but I'm pretty disillusioned with Y!A, the appeal process is crazy, blatant abuse can be overturned and non violations removed, its also flooded with spam to the point certain categories are effectively unusable, it also tries be a knowledge sharing site while contradicting that with all the game type elements, since this is my first day here I can't really judge AB just yet, but it seems pretty good.
-
Yes, that stupid place kicks out all the good members and keeps the weird ones. Stupid competitor.
-
Yes. I kept getting all these violations. Even though I was having fun for a while, I got really bummed out getting violations when there was a lot worse stuff being left on there. I know what I did wrong. I insulted someone in American Football, and that was that. They know who they are. And they know why they have the most points, lol.
-
Nope, I'm still on Yahoo!Answers and still going strong, ever since the very first month, way back in Beta, Jan 2006. I have been featured user in blogs all over the world as a result of my participation there, and I have received many free gifts. I even met one founder of Yahoo, David Filo, at the first Yahoo!Answers birthday party, where I received an award for Category Excellence.
