Is a dollar store pregnancy test just as accurate as any other pregnancy tests?

i think the way it works is if i gives you positive result then its positive. but if it gives you a negative result you may still be pregnant. not sure tho, all pregnancy tests test for the same chemical so i dont see why a cheep one would be less acurate than an expensive one. plus if you got to the dollar store you can buy 5 for the price of 1 expensive one and then do a best of 5 to be sure lol

I'm not sure. Personally, I find that a lot of stuff in dollar stores is inferior and I don't buy a lot there, and I would probably shy away from purchasing a pregnancy test there.

one of my cousin bought a pregg test from the dollar stores for both of her pregnancies and it work...

the issue is that they may give you a false negative.... as in, you may buy a dollar store test saying you can get positive results 5 days before your missed period....and then you take it and it says you aren't pregnant. but then you find out you are. so with a dollar store test, if you get a negative and you really believe you might be pregnant, you should go get one from the grocery store or planned parent hood to be sure. however, if you ARE pregnant, the dollar store is accurate in that respect. it won't give you a false positive.

hi there folks i have a couple of questions i took a doller tree pregnancy test yesterday and a very very faint line came up along with a dark line does this mean im positive then today i went to planned parent hood and they said it was negitive i had my period on 8-2-08 and then i experience implantation bleeding on 8-27-08 ,8-28-08,8-29-08and 8-30-08 all light spotting nothing like a period very light not really noticeable i have slightly sore breast can i be pregnant r what when i was pregnant with my son the test didnt show untill i was 4 months any one experiance what im going through

So I don't hardly ever miss periods, i bleed for a couple of weeks in January. The doc wanted to wait thirty days before starting medicine to help me get pregnant, however, what I thought was my period ended up not being a period at all, more like break thru bleeding for about an hour if that. Not a drop since. I have almost every pregnancy symptom there is except my nipples are severly sore instead of breast. I'm worried, we want to be pregnant and I never miss. I'm pretty sure I'm preg. but the dollar tree store test read negative.

My best friend bought 2 from the dollerstore but both told her she was pregnant and she got it confirmed from the doctor, so both of them were right. I agree with what someone mentioned above. My mom told me once that when she was pregnant with my little brother that the doctor told her you can't have a false positive result but you can have a false negative.

I bought 3 tests from Dollar Tree, took them all in the same week, and they were all correct. So I think they're just as accurate

no, a pregnancy test is a pregnancy test. My friend took 2 from the "everything for a dollar" dollar store and both said she was pregnant and she went to the doc to get it confirmed and she is.
