  • If you're fat, then you really need to go on a healthy eating regieme to lose the excess fat. To do this you should consult your doctor before hand. Depending how heavy you are depends how many calories you need to eat each day. Think about joining a local slimming group, such as Weightwatchers. If your problem is mainly flab, then doing sit ups should help your stomach, running helps your legs, and exercises such as weight lifting can help tone up your arms. However, sometimes people have so much flab that no matter how many exercises they do, it will never go, because the flab is actually excess skin. This happened to my sister after she had her children, and in the end she had to resort to cosmetic surgery. She had abdominoplasty, aka a tummy tuck, and her stomach looks great now. Before ever considering cosmetic surgery though, you should consult your GP, because they will be able to give you the contact details of reputable surgeons, who are more likely to do a decent job.
  • Definitely consult with your doctor about your weight loss plans, and if your doctor isn't as supportive as he or she should be, get a different doctor (sad to say, but some docs seem to care less) If you are serious about loosing weight, join your local gym and if possible hire a personal trainer. They can help you create a workout that is right for you. Also, see a nutritionist to make sure you are really eating right. Many gyms have nutritionists that come in regularly, but if not you can see one elsewhere. Also, join a support group - weight watchers is certainly an option, but even just an online community can be a big help if you are willing to be honest. You may need to see a surgeon to get rid of all the flab, but there is a lot you can and should do first.
  • You have to keep your metabolism high and sustain aerobic activity for at least 12 minutes. Start with 45 minute brisk walk twice a day. If 45 mins is too much of a challenge make it twenty and slowly increase as your weight drops and endurance increases. Watch your diet! No drive throughs.Watch the fat content of your food. If you can, eat fresh veggies- raw or lightly steamed and seasoned with lemon, garlic, pepper, paprika, whatever you like- just stay away from fats. Cant do the fresh? get frozen. Frozen is better than canned. If you must have a fat, use olive oil. Olive oil can be seasoned with herbs to replace the all to satifying taste of butter. Increasing activity whle reducing intake should start the process. You will plateau- at which point you must change your routine to initiate more weight loss. Stay away from metabolic stimulants. They can damage your heart. Be patient.
