I'd give him the cash and let him buy his heart's desire (whatever $200 can buy)! :)

$200 and an Apartment Finder.

If he's into sports, take him to a baseball or hockey game and buy him beers and food. For a pro event, that would come close to about two bills. Plus you get to enjoy the event with him. I'm getting my girlfriend a weekend in New York and a broadway show for her birthday this month...a little more than $200 but at least I get to have some fun to. Beats buying her a sweater:)

A Keg??? (Well... here in Canada anyway...) But really... depending on what he likes I would go with an assortment of gift cards for his favorite restaurant & store so he can shop & dine at his favorite places on his special day.

Depends on what he is into. Few things: Drinking game New games for his gaming console/pc/whatever Open him an investment account with that money in DVD's/CD's ? Or just the cash like Rosie says.

I always fall back on giftcards when I can't figure out what to buy people, but I make sure it's to a store or restaurant that person frequents, otherwise it's just a waste of money and may never get used.
