  • It depends in part who wins primaries today, Hillary C or Barack O. on the Democratic side. McCain seems to be the Republican candidate, unless he really screws up something. However, I don't think that the US "rules" the world; it's more like we try to lead in several areas, someone of them quite badly executed currently by the current "Dumb-Ya" in office.
  • I have researched the current political position in great detail so I can answer this with confidence. No, it isn't true - the other bloke's gonna win it. Then we'll have all the right wing Answerbaggers bemoaning the fact that Bush couldn't have a third term. Of course, the other bloke's a right winger as well - all American politicians are - he's just not extreme enough for the conservatives.
  • I haven't really been paying attention lately either. American politics is a world that is full of hustle and bustle to get nothing done. Lobbyists are allowed to basically bribe legislators for their votes on certain bills or issues. No matter what issue you can come up with, there is at least one special interest group willing to lobby on each side of it. That means no matter who is in charge, we will never get big changes through. All comes very slowly, but at a steady pace. As far as the candidates now, no one stands out very well. Each side has at least one issue I see eye to eye with them on, and one where I think they must be nuts to think the way they do. Dammit, this would have been a perfect time for Leiberman. I think if he had been given the shot, with the state of affairs as it is now, he could have changed the world view of the US to a more positive one. Cheers!
  • Mccain doesnt really have a chance(Im moving to Canada if he DOES turn the US into a theistic country) I think it might more realistic to say that Obama has this one clinched, but who knows. I vote for either Clinton or Obama
  • In the Democratic, or "liberal" party, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama are competing for the presidential nomination. Several primaries today (in which states vote for their choice) will likely decide the nominee, though we won't know officially for a week or two. On the Republican, or "conservative" side, Senator John McCain has the nomination. Mike Huckabee is still running but can't win even if he gets all the remaining delegates. Hillary has experience going for her but her last name is holding her back. Obama has a lot of enthusiasm but not as much experience. McCain is considered by many a "liberal conservative" and it's hard yet to know whether this will help or hurt him.
  • If Hilary loses today, I believe she will become an Independent(in the words of Sting...she can't she can't she can't stand losin'). This will result in a three way tie between her Obama and McCain.
  • I'll vote, but our votes don't really matter. It's obvious someone's pushing Obama and whoever "they" are that decide who the next president will be, they've already done it. I want Hilary to win and am voting for her... but if she does, I will be very surprised.
