I started working at about 10 years old, cleaning house, doing yardwork, and other odd jobs. I took the bus and got clientèle via word of mouth. I would not recommend this these days. It is too dangerous. When I was 16 I had my first "real" job as a prep cook.

Yes i worked for campfire boys an girls! got to hang out wtih kids for 3 hours after school an play board games an color.. it rocked! As for why i did it.. i wanted a lil money an it was fun

I started working part-time at age 15 and worked that job all through high school.Some weekends, school holidays and summer holidays. Why? My mother thought it would keep me busy and out of trouble. I actually enjoyed it, it gave me pocket money.

So I would have clothes, I've bought my own clothes since 1968 (since I was 14).

Heck no....because mom and dad always gave me money to run their errands....but if I had it would have been better. I would have learned about time management, respect of authority, integrety, and how to be responsible before going to college....plus how to budget my money and save it!

Yes... Started working when I was 11 years old. By HS, I was managing a meat department in my father's store on weekends and summers, and working in it through the week. Why? To have cash to pay for gas, buy books, buy albums, go out with friends, etc.
