Brother wants house painted as a surprise for when she returns home. Hubby wnt to home to give estimate. Interior looks like a crime scene...pools of dried blood on floors and wall, also bloody hand prints on window sill. Brother claims that sister was in hospital at the time..was a home robbery and his brother in law was killed in the process. Says carpets will be replaced too. Hubby was suspicious and tried to question more. Brother says that murder victim was a pastor. He wouldn't give my hubby names of home owner or any details of crime. There is no police tape or anything that shows an investigation was done. Hubby gave outrageous price for painting just to get out of house. Brother said was way too much and asked him to come down a few thousand dollars. Hubby said no and left. I researched for the past 3 hours on the net but came up with no matches for crime. I checkd local archives, police calls, obits, missing persons, etc. Nothing has been reported on this situation. Do we call police with limited info we have or just let it go? We have 4 children and are concerned about them if this is bogus story and brother is trying to cover up crime.

Call the police, for peace of mind at least. Sounds scary. I wouldn't want to get my family involved with that kind of creepiness. Good luck.

Id be inclined to call the police and leave an annoymous tip you dont have to give your names, just let them know you are concerned about what may have gone on there! Its sounds very dodgy to me, though im surprised the "brother" didnt clean up the mess before allowing your hubby into the property, id call the police and tell them but they might tell you they have been investigating it! Do you not get free acces to police records where you are?

I'd talk to the police.

Sounds like a crime has occured. i have a quarter or better still, i will happy to make the call to the police. if your husband believes there was a homocide, he has a duty to call the police or be charged with witholding information of a crime. What you are saying strongly suggests of a crime gone unnoticed. Call the police and do it now.

You COULD call the hospital and see if the lady who's SUPPOSED to be living in the house is there (if more than one hosptial, call them all.) If she's not or even if she is... Yes... Call the police and ask THEM if there was a crime there... If they ask why you're interested, tell them the story. They should come and at least check it out. (You really had to ask?)

I would call them, anonymously if you have to, they will at least go by the house to check it out.
