Do people answer the easy questions just for points and ignore the questions that matter?

Some may. I answer any question I feel fit. Although it seems like this answer is for the points :)

You're never guaranteed points for any answer you give, so it doesn't do any good to go for the easy ones, really.

I answer questions I CAN answer, and sometimes answer the easy/fun ones for a laugh. The points are gravy on top of that.

Some do and some don't. It really is that simple. Joe Cool is dead on though, there are no guarantees for points just because one answers. Some of the best answers end up at the bottom of the pile, but they get found eventually :)

I think that a good number of members here do not wish to answer the tough ones... they are here for something easier. I do think that some of these are doing it for points. I like to get into the difficult ones. Frankly, from what I have observed, answers to easier questions get more points than those for difficult ones. Of course, I do not think that people who answer everything with "yes", "no", "I dunno", and the like get points.

I have yet to figure out what the fuck the points are for, but I generally stick to the easy questions anyway.

I answer any question that I believe I can come up with an answer for. My mood decides what I can and cannot answer properly.

I can only talk for myself ...I answer questions I know or think I know the answers to BUT most of all they have to tickle my fancy first and foremost
