  • either one at that point they are really one and the same
  • You would give something to the Baby.
  • A baby shower traditionally is to help mom get needed things for the baby, HOWEVER. I've had 3 baby shower so far in my life and really appreciate any gifts that were given to me, and never forget them... sometimes a new/expectant mom needs a little pampering ;) but if you choose to go this route, bring along something little for baby (receiving blanket, washcloths)
  • Depending on how well I know the mom to be.........it is a baby shower, so I bring a gift for the baby. If I'm really close i bring something for the mom to be.
  • I give something for th baby, usually I make a quilt for them. But if they have other kids, I will also get things for them so they don't feel left out with all the presents, seemingly all going to their new brother or sister.
  • Either...or both. Anything for the baby is really for the mom anyway, isn't it?
  • Give something that would make the Job of being mother easier or give something that would benefit the baby later in life like a college scholarship or savings bond.
  • I only went to one baby shower, and it was to be their first child. I knew the family had everything, so I bought a whole lot of books for them to save for the baby in his toddler years. Board books , cloth books etc.
  • I ususally get something for the baby....I'm a sucker when it comes to shopping for baby clothes. There just such damn cute stuff out there.. But if it is one of my CLOSE friends who's chosen to reproduce, I always get her a little something as well....
  • Typically, you would give something for the baby. However, I got a $100 gift certificate for a massage at a pregnancy spa, at my shower, and WOW did I love that!! I give something to the mom if she is a great friend but it's always in addition to something for the baby.
  • I give something for mum and baby :)
