  • If you are talking high end career based Psychology as a psychologist/therapist = masters degree in psychology from an APA accredited school. an MSW/LCPC can work but gets more into family care vs. individual treatment. Psychiatry = Ph.D/Med school If you are lookign for something a little lower lvl like an entry level type job, I would recommend going to your local mental health clinic, almost every county has one and apply to be a tech. You might have to get into some confrontations/fights with some patients that act up, you might have to restrain physically and you might get injured on teh job doing it, but there isn't a better tool out there to teach you how it works. I have been working in a Psych hospital for over a year and I'm currently on light duty with my leg in a cast but I have learned more in the past year than I did in college. My advice...go for it. Start with a B.S. Psych and work up from there. You will learn a ton about yourself as well as the other people in your life.
