I think it will take a couple of years for them to develop their own programming. How many years did it take the History channel to show something beyond WWII? We joked it was becoming the Hitler channel at one point! Also, I think because it is a narrowly focused market, they maybe don't have the budget for original programming of the magnitude that other, more popular, cable channels have. I would love to see a show on base histories (profiles of different bases), a show on other military aspects beyond past battles and future weapons development (like all the support roles) and a discussion style talk show that keeps us up to date on DoD issues, budgets, polictial currents, etc.

It isn't just the Military channel. History and Discovery Channels (all part of Discovery, I believe) will repeat the evening block of shows starting at midnight. I assume this is for those on the 2nd shift, and those who will watch regular TV channels in the evening, and then switch over (like me).

Well... It's also like cable movie channels. They show them throughout the week (not the premiers, but reruns), so other people who couldn't see them when they originally broadcast them, could see them, and those who want to can see them again. It's cheaper than doing the National TV thing, and only showing new shows or reruns in the same time slots, and allows more to see the shows.

Yep. If I see World War Two Battlefront: Okinowa one more tine I'm gonna hurl!

Yes, Please. ;)

Yes, it's a bit repetitive. They come up with new stuff each season and sometimes, I question their content. But it's still a kick ass channel.
