  • Yes it does because it is used throughout the whole body. But it doesn't just lube you up more. IT works with other things, like if you ate more fiber, it will help that fiber to 'move' you along better.
  • I've actually had this medically diagnosed: constipation due to dehydration. When you don't have enough pure fluid in your body, it needs to get the water nutrients from another source. One source of that is your feces. The feces residing in your intestines, on its way out contains a lot of water and your body sucks as much of the fluid out of it as it can. This then results in a very hard stool that your body cannot pass. Eventually the feces backs up and you will begin to vomit and get heartburn, and other stomach flu like symptoms. You may also feel a very sharp stabbing feeling in your lower abdomen, this is your body trying to pass the feces. What you need to to is to drink plenty of fluid. Water alone will not help you as your body depends on natural sugars to stay hydrated as well. Eating lots of fresh fruits (especially apples - fiber and natural sugars), drinking lots of water, and occasionally sipping on some fruit juices is a very good idea for someone experiencing this issue. Also, if the pain does not subside within two to three days of this regimen, a trip to the doctor's office or local emergency room/walk in may be needed so that they can prescribe a hospital grade laxative to get you to pass the stool.
