I am currently dealing with a pinkeye infection and am using the antibacterial eye drops the doctor gave me. But I was wondering if it was pertinent that I consistently keep it clean of the pus that builds up in the corners of the infected eye?

When I was young I didn't know that people could get pinkeye. I thought only cows could. This is because my grandpa's cows would sometimes get pinkeye. he would put medicine over the eye and then a piece of denim. I hope you feel better soon.

If you don't clean the drainage it can get pretty crusty and stick to your eyelashes. A warm wet washcloth held on the eye can help loosen things up if it gets stuck while you sleep, just don;t clean your eyes with your fingers. Get a tissue- and wash your hands often, that way you won't spread the infection to the other eye or other people. Good Luck!

I know a lady who used eyedrops from a person who had an eye infection,and she got the same infection.Maybe you got it that way.Im sure it will go away if you take antibiotics.Keep it clean all the time.
