  • Usually, but sometimes I just forget. Or my answer is just pointing out the offensiveness or stupidity of the question.
  • Some answers are just too dumb, miss the point of the Q or are insulting. I try not to DR too much, but sometimes the best I can do is just not rate at all. And sometimes I forget. What was the Q again, please?
  • I give points to all the answers. If someone is nice enough to answer, I'll reward them for it. Regardless if I agree with what they say or not. :)
  • Some people are just lazy, others get on tirades and forget, others dislike the question. It just depends. +
  • Yeah, I do. I figure if the question is worth answering it is worth a few points.
  • I do almost every time unless the question is offensive or baiting someone into their point of view.
  • No. Sometimes I will answer a question as a CL and my purpose is to gently inform the asker that their question is not appropriate (offensive, points begging, etc.) and it will likely be flagged and accepted as such. All other times, yes I do.
  • yea if it's interesting enough to catch my interest it's worth points
  • Well of course.. cause I'm the POINT FAIRY ya see!!
  • Yes, I do. Or at least I try to (there had been times when I could not rate the question anymore because I had run out of points for the questioner). It's my own way of telling myself that I have already answered that question.
  • I sure do !!
  • If i like the question or answer then yes, i just gave everyone points, it was FUN!
  • I do as well. Those that are vulgar/obscene/insulting/sexual in nature I avoid answering. I also give points to all who answer my questions..however, I have made a few exceptions to that rule..insulting/vulgar,obscene responses don't get my time or my points. They (the foolish people) are there in black and white for everyone to see... who they are....what they are..imagine, immortality on a thread that shows your true colors forever... :)
  • No. People gotta earn my points, dammit!
  • Yes of course, with the obvious exceptions as mentioned by others answering this question. What I see a lot that disturbs me a little is askers who do not make a good faith effort to acknowledge those who have answered. I come across questions that have recieved upwards of 100 points, yet there may be 20 answers sitting on zero. I do my best to go through them and give points to the good ones. If I can take the time to do this, why can't the asker? I realize sometimes as a Q gets old it's hard to see if it got new answers, but on mine I sure try.
  • I almost always give points to every question that I answer. A good question that deserves points, gets points. If a question cannot be answered because it is too vague or is based on a false premise them sometimes I do not give points.
  • I try to but I keep forgetting and then I have to back and check...I keep running out of points to give to my friends. So then I just go elfing. How come you didn't ask anything from July through October? You OK?
  • I give points to every Q. AND I give points AND comments to each and every answer I receive for my Qs. It's the right thing to do. AND right now I'm going down my "friends" list getting caught-up with those who happen to be on that list. My challenge: I can only answer 24 Qs per friend. THEN I HAVE TO move on to the next friend. Thanks for asking your Q! I did my best to answer it. I hope the information helps. VTY, Ron Berue Yes, that is my real last name! Sources: Some personal observations and opinions. • i always do unless its an ignorant/rude reply
  • I always give points unless they are rude or offensive...I'm a big softie in the point department:)
  • I try to but sometimes I forget. Sorry!! :S
  • No... It depends on the content of what is said. If I find it to be racist, harmful, or just plain stupid. i don't feel it deserves it. Now if the persons opinion is a complete 180 from my own point of view, Ill still give them points. Nothing wrong with a different opinion.
